So far, no plans for the USDM model to get here, and I doubt it will because the current USDM Escape will go out of production by the end of 2011.
Ford will be ending production of the current generation Escape crossover by the end of 2011 and move production of its replacement from Kansas City, Missouri to Lousiville, Kentucky. The Kansas City plant has built the Escape and its Mercury Mariner twin since they launched in 2000.
Production of the Mariner will end in the next few months as Ford winds down the Mercury brand and the new Escape will be built on the global C-segment platform. The new Escape is expected to be share a platform with Europe's next generation Kuga crossover. Space in Louisville was freed up by moving the new uni-body Explorer to the Chicago assembly plant alongside the Taurus and Lincoln MKS. Louisville may add additional C-segment products such as the C-Max MPV.
The current Asia-Pacific/ASEAN Escape sold here will also probably go out of production after the current USDM Escape goes out of production.
Replacements? As part of the "One Ford" program the Escape's replacement could be a new/updated Kuga or a new SUV based on the Kuga.
Current European Ford Kuga.

Probably never. That's US Market only, and it'd be too expensive if Ford sold it as a CBU import from there.

God, the never dying Escape. Puro na lang facelift. Honestly they should just find something else new like the Kuga or the Edge. Maybe make it here or Thailand then export to other ASEAN countries...

tidus1203, that's what Ford is planning.
Ford plans to kill the current Escape in the US by the end of 2011, the Asia-Pacific Escape will most likely follow soon after.
Its still not clear if the Escape and Kuga will be merged into one model or if a new Kuga-based Escape will be developed, but one thing for sure, Ford plans to have one compact SUV platform (based on the C1 platform). This is part of their "One Ford" program.Last edited by AG4; October 5th, 2010 at 08:53 PM.
