Competition is good.
Before: Mang Inasal is one of the fastest growing pain for Jollibee, loosing many franchise owners to Mang Inasal. Even making moves that prevent current Jollibee franchise owners from getting franchises in Mang Insasal, forcing them to choose between the two.
Jollibee buying Mang Inasal = less competition
Unfortunately it also might mean changes in how the Mang Inasal restaurants will be run... just like the changes that happened to Teriyaki Boy in terms of food quality & service.

Before, when it was not bought out yet, the food was 100% better.
The sushi rolls like "california maki" was not "bitin".
The T.Boy Chicken was very moist and full of flavor and bigger too. These days, you have to request some terriyaki sauce because their chicken lacks taste.

those people don't really notice changes in food quality
branding is more important to them
Chowking may lose some customers who are more refined (or discriminating) but they wont lose the mass market
Will wonders never cease with Motolite? Ha ha.
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
