    Hi,

I had my first PMS (since I bought the 2nd hand 2005 innova a/t gas) last Sept 5 with its odo at 120+k. Mechanic did ATF dialysis, changed oil and oil filter, replaced brake pads and shoe, rotated tires, replaced coolant, added fluid break, replaced spark plugs and fan belt .

I read that I should change oil (and do tune-up? Pls correct me if am wrong) after 3 months or after 5k kms, whichever comes first. Well, 3 months is due on December 5, but I haven't even driven 1k kms... Should I still have my oils changed? Or go to the mechanic even? Pls enlighten... Thanks!

It should be safe to do it every 6,000 km or 6 months, whicherver comes first.

Gasoline engines don’t produce as much by-products as a Diesel engine does.

our local metro driving conditions qualify for "severe" driving conditions". our cars spend more timing idling, than making kilometers.
it would probably be wise to follow the "whichever comes first" schedule.

    but... Quripot ako.
i follow the "whichever comes last" thing.
i rationalize this by saying to myself, that i don't do idling that much.
    heh heh.

    kayo, sir.
look back and see, just what type of driving traffic you do.

Same here. I've normalized my maintenance schedule to every 6 months. Anyway, I average between 900 to 1,000 km a month.

Stick to 5000 kilometers na lang for diesel and 7,500 kilometers for gas..

Last time i heard a mechanic talking about the dreaded altis sludging saying it was caused by prolonged oil change interval * 10,000 kms

Kung quiripot ka, tyane naman ako...

5KKm individually on our rides is equivalent to a year approximately.... My bad....😎

I texted my mechanic, sabi nya after 5k kms na daw para sulit... but I think ang tagal pa nun cause I don't drive the Innova every day. Kuripot din ako! Hehe.

I will try after 6 months nalang -- March 2018 naka 3k kms na siguro ako by then.

What engine oil did you use - mineral or full synthetic?

Yung sa car namin is full synthetic and I will change oil in December pa * 15 months. Less than 3000 km travelled.

    We are in province.

Mechanic used Castrol GLX (gas). Next oil, I might use Zic, but just the semi synthetic. I tried to check pala the oil today, malinis pa naman, pinkish reddish.
