May 12th, 2013 05:03 PM #1Hi guys! I recently bought a 2nd hand Toyota Revo 1.8 gas with automatic transmission for a very cheap price, after a few weeks of driving it I realized that the vehicle is not that fuel efficient however I love the ride as the suspension, under chassis and everything still feels new. I was thinking has anyone here tried replacing the engine of a Revo from gasoline to diesel, I tried looking for diesel engines at sulit but cant find any. Is there any shop that sells diesel engines for a Revo and if there is how much usually is the price? also if replacing the engine is possible will there be someone who will buy my gasoline engine even for a very cheap price or just swap my gasoline engine then I will add cash for a diesel engine?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Not worth the hassle and money. Not quite sure about the cost of the engine, but the swap would likely cost you some 60-80k pesos. And that's before fixing the registration of the vehicle. Might as well trade it for a diesel variant for the same amount of money, less hassle and better reliability.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Another option is to go LPG or buy a diesel variant. The engine swap won't be too feasible IMO.

May 12th, 2013 05:26 PM #4Thanks guys, yes you are right... I didn't thought about the registration which is a hassle too. Probably I will just sell the unit then save up for a diesel one...

May 23rd, 2013 01:06 AM #8i agree. the more practical course is to sell the gas revo and buy a diesel.. less headaches that way, and as a doctor, i can tell you that this type of headache may not be remedied by the usual tablets..

May 23rd, 2013 02:18 AM #9the cheapest solution was already mentioned by one member, install an lpg tank from a reputable lpg converter wherein you can use gas or lpg, daming mga high end cars na nagpaconvert ng lpg so i guess there would be no hassle if you install one in your revo basta sa reputable shops lang at current prices of auto lpg it would take 4-6 years para mabawi mo nga lang ang ginastos mo that is kung di tataas ang price ng auto lpg for the next 4-6 years(but as a consolation it would still be cheaper than gas and baka mas mahal na magpaconvert by that time)

The 12-month warranty on the factory battery ended a few days ago. SOH is still good at over 90%,...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
