New owner of Diesel vehicle po ako, i bought my 2nd hand REVO last December 2013 sa PASAY Automall. From now i will observe kung magbabago FC nya pero kung hindi sana matulungan nyo ako

crame to sta rosa and back... that's about 80 km! siguro worth 6 liters yang distanciang yan.. ilang litro ba ang tantiya mong binaba ng gauge?

Going by the fuel gauge is simply a guessing game.

Fill it up to the first click.

    Do that trip again.

Fill it up again to the first click at the same station.

    Compute.

If this is the fully loaded VX with the 240D and an automatic, don't expect fuel economy to be great. Still, I suggest you check the transmission to see if it's slipping, and look to see if your exhaust smokes a lot or smells of diesel.

Also check that your oil level is not rising... which is a sure sign of fuel contamination, which means you need your pump recalibrated and/or your nozzles cleaned, because there's too much fuel going into the engine.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I don't know sir dr. d im not aware of the fuel tank capacity ng REVO . Kung 6 liters lang dapat sir ang konsumong tantya nyo e palagay ko sobra-over sa 6 liters ang naubos ko  considering from half line sa guage meter going down to 1/4 (2nd line before Empty). Thanks for your response and inputs sir dr.d

if my computation is correct, assume po ninyo na 1/4 ng fuel tank ang nakunsumo. (from 1/2 to 1/4). afaik, around 40 liters ang fuel tank capacity, including reserve na po, which is below the E line. palagay ko, nasa 10 liters ang nakunsumo nyo. ang distance po ng crame to sta. rosa, nasa 100 kms yan. lumalabas na 10kms/liter ang FC nyo. depende pa yan kung saan sa sta. rosa. another thing to consider is driving habit, you might be driving like a teen-ager. malakas po ang kunsumo ng fuel pag mabilis ang takbo. however, i suggest injector nozzle balancing and replace fuel filter. baka di pa napalitan. just my 2 cents.

Thanks sir, I will try your advice, by the way my REVO is 2004 DLX 2.4 diesel model ang pinaka low end ng REVO, lahat manual. When will i check the oil level? After po pa-andarin?

alas, the fuel gauge display is not always linear. in fact, it is usually not linear, because our fuel tanks have curves.. in my innova, 1/2 to 1/4 on the gauge gives me 130 km. but 1/4 to 0/4 gives me only 60 km..

Hopefully sir tama computation nyo, but if your facing the REVO dashboard looking at the fuel guage its not equally divided the gap/space between the 4 lines. Mas malaki ang space between half line down to 1/4 line compare sa space between 1/4 line down to Empty line. Like what dr. d have said. Thanks po sir shelu for your inputs

this is the way to go when computing for FC. Never ever rely on "my Php xxx is good for xxx kms" or "my gauge moves down from here to there when i travel this much".

It's good to do this over several tankfulls so you can establish consistency and you can tell better if you're driving efficiently or not.
