September 12th, 2005 10:30 PM #11Guys, it seem that the writer at Popular Science may have made a mistake or the Isuzu site is not up to date.
I have look at the Isuzu site here's the specification of Duramax: http://www.isuzu.co.jp/world/product...ive/index.html It is 300ps maximum power output and 705 n.m maximum torque. Nevertheless, it is still the most powerful V8 diesel engine so far.

VW Touareg 5.0L V10 TDI
310 hp / 750Nm torque
+ Power Step Chip Upgrade
352 hp / 855Nm torque
to think that the Duramax has a larger displacement (+ 1,599cc) than the VW engine.
