    KIXX PAO C3 5w40
    HYUNDAI EXTEER diesel ultra 5w40

Has anyone tried these oils? which one is better? I need an ACEA C3 oil based on my car manual. I want to try Castrol Magnatec Diesel 15W40 though I'm not sure if okay sya for my Sportage.

    TIA Tsikoteers

I have a Sportage too & I used the Kixx PAO C3 5w30 before, bought a new set of 5w40 for my next o/c. Now using Cyclon Magma Syn TDI 5w40. O/c interval ko ay 7,500.
Hyundai Exteer is also C3 so, compatible sa dpf equipped. I use any C3 fs oil I can use, factor is the price.

Sorry for the noob question but what's the difference between an ACEA C3 and E7/E9? kasi from what i've read, C3 has something to do with the catalytic which my Sportage has tapos yung E9 nman has somthing to do with the EGR nman. okay lang ba interchange an ACEA C3 with an ACEA E7/E9?

To my recollection, C3 oils are for light use passenger diesel cars & E7/9 are for heavier use trucks. Both are low SAPS oils. All modern diesel engines have an EGR used to lower the nitrox emission and the dpf (which traps diesel soot) is usually in Euro 4 and above engines although I heard some earlier Hyundai/Kias have this. Low SAPS oils are low residue oils that prevent soot from prematurely building up in your dpf. A clogged dpf is an expensive problem but I heard this is rare in the Hyundai/Kia engine. I use a German brand decarbonizer specifically for use on DPF/EGR equipped engines. It’s called VOLTRONIC D12 & is recommended to be used every 10k. Look it up. Luckily, it’s available in Lazada.
If you see something like this in the engine bay, right beside the turbo, that is the DPF

Would anyone know if a 2014 Hyundai Accent HB diesel would have a DPF? Also, if a car DOES NOT have a DPF... can one also use an oil with an ACEA C3 rating instead of an ACEA B4 oil?

I also have a 2014 Accent HB & mine doesn’t have one. I use an ACEA B4 for it. Before Zic X7 & now I tried Hyundai D700 na CI-4
Check yours cause the DPF has a sensor & pipings. In my Accent, it only has this rusty cylinder next to the turbo.

ACEA C3 is usually for diesel crossovers and sedans.

ACEA E7/E9 for trucks, and some SUVs to my knowledge.

Just because oils have the same viscosity number i.e. 5W30 or 5W40, doesn't mean they are interchangeable.

In other words, just follow what's in your manual. Most likely C3 if it's a Sportage diesel.

Btw, already tried the Xteer Diesel Ultra C3 5W30. Cheap for a 6L bottle. No issues, will probably get again if it's the cheapest on my next oil change.

^definitely, follow what’s in the manual. Unfortunately, the dealer doesn’t do this. They don’t even know what a DPF is & use the wrong oils.

Thanks! will check for the DPF. I got this second hand, but during my last OC i used Hyundai Xteer Ultra 5W30 ACEA B4 (which was fairly hard to find as the C3 rated oils are the ones commonly available).

Question: Is an ACEA C3 rated oil not compatible with a car that does not have a DPF?

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
