Slap an aftermarket turbo but why would you do that when you can buy one stock with a turbo already.
If you don’t want to buy a turbo, you can lessen its weight. Maybe take out the rear seats, use carbon fiber here and there but still you may not reach the performance of the 1.5L turbo model.

You can budget 250-300k for a turbo upgrade. Depende na lang sa parts na ikakabit mo like blow off valve, you can go china na 1.5k or orig Tial brand for 15k. China intercooler at 9k vs orig branded for 30k. Same with turbos, you can get garrett at 60k or china turbo for 15k. Starting to see the trend na?
A good shop with lots of turbo charging experience will go a long way, they will guide you which part to cheap out and play with your budget. Marami kasi dyan shop nagmamarunong pero clueless naman pala, naka pag turbo lang ng isang oto or naka basa lang ng article sa magazine eh branded expert/specialist/tuner na. LOL.
Anyway, R18 engines can easily and reliably hit 230whp, if same lang CVT ng 1.8 and RS then your still safe. Go 250whp+++ and you need to upgrade pistons and rods and transmission! LOL.
Good luck!

Peak torque is more of a concern when matching trannies. Unless of course, you get a much more robust tranny or convert it to MT.
For all its worth, spending that much while throwing out your car’s warranty is a big risk. Unless of course, you have money to burn on such projects.

July 22nd, 2018 12:34 PM #29Hi. You dont know me, im just a spectator of Touge Battle but planning to join soon with my Civic FC medyo kulang pa lng sa driving skills. But the car almost ready na for track with the above mods. Ex Mazda3 user and OrangevirusTuned group but sold it na then bought new Civic FC last 2017 November. Try my car sa track next time ibang iba from stock form. Tried it several times sa BRC since im from South.

Touge Battle is open to all - don't feel shy to join. Yesterday there were quite a lot of first-timers who participated. Winning is just a lucky by-product, the primary intent is to enjoy your car and quench your need for speed in a safe and controlled environment.
And besides, the PS4s that you have already give you several seconds worth of advantage so you can be competitive. Hope to see you in the next Touge Battle - it feels lonely being the only FC in the sea of EKs and Mazda 3s. [emoji23]
Btw, why'd you sell the Mazda 3 for a Civic?

I feel the same way. Not a fan.
