July 16th, 2024 02:42 PM #1Is the engine block of the Honda IDSI L13A the same as the L15A? I was wondering if i could swap out the internals and the cylinder head of the L15A unto a L13A block. Of course the ECU will have to be swapped also. By internals, i mean the crank and the pistons. Top of the L13A with the cylinder head of the L15A, altho the cylinder head from the L13A might be the same. That way, the engine will produce the same hp as a L15A but the block will retain the original engine number. Something akin to using a stroker kit. The cylinder bore diameter of the L13A and piston size is the same as L15A, then i might be able to use the connecting rods from the latter (HONDA L ENGINE WIKI). Shorter rods mean more combustion cylinder volume. Compression ratios will surely change.

so you want to turn your 1.3L engine to a 1.5L?
oversizing your bore will be too risky pero I wouldn't say na its not possible. biggest issue I have against the project is the cooling system
why not just replace the entire engine? should be plug and play. tapos dalhin mo na lang sa LTO for change engine.
I remember oversizing a Toyota before... it was really quick pero you can't use the car as a daily driver. we had to tow the car to the drag strip.

July 17th, 2024 02:24 PM #3Measure the height of the block from the crank to the deck. If they're the same then the difference in displacement is entirely from the crankshaft and rods. You might even be able to swap just the internals without having to do the heads and ECU.
Yeah, they tried with the styling but one can still see that it is not very Mazda like when...
