Fuel Consumption is 5km/liter

Na observe ko after changing my oil from 20w50 to 10w40 and also from bosch platinum spark plugs to OEM spark plugs, fuel consumption ko naging 5km/liter na lang. bago din naman ang air filter. car is 1997 corolla 1.6 gli with 123k mileage. Ano kaya ang problem?

ilan ba dati? 6? if its an AT, better chk the tranny fluid...

dati is 8km per liter. manual transmission

Check tire pressure..

Aircon compressor bearing/ pulley bearing

Rear brakes/ Handbrake cable

Check for fuel leaks

Check- aircon aux fan/and condenser...

Check your car aircon for high pressure

And Balik mo lahat ng ginagawa or pinalitan mo dati...like oil.. spark plus etx.

kung humina hatak ng makina sir, possible nabawasan compression dahil sa mas manipis na oil na ginamit kaya lumakas fuel consumption.

maybe its the other way around. baka gumanda hatak ng makina since manipis oil na ginamit kaya naging mas aggressive driving style ni TS at tumaas fc

seriously, TS just get back to the old oil and spark plugs. using thinner viscosity oil may not be that good to a 20 year old engine seals..

natawa ako dito may point ka nga sir kasi gumanda nga talaga yung hatak nung pinalitan ko to a thinner oil. ano yung may not be that good to my engine pag thinner oil? ano mangyayari? So change back to old oil kahit pangit ang hatak nun?

since gumanda hatak, na-enjoy mo umapak sa gas pedal so your usual driving style and fc changes too

kung old na engine, old na rin mga oil seals. it's a common notion na when you use thinner viscosity oil may tendency magkaleak sa mga oil seals.
