for about one week now our everest was puffing out bluish smoke at the exhaust, extremely smoking. our trusted mechanic told us that it could be a turbo problem, the rubber seals and bushings could be worn out allowing the oil feed from the turbo to excape at the exhaust side and get into the exhaust manifold which causes the oil to burn and produce bluish smoke.. any inputs on this guys? i really need additional thoughts and insights on this.

Yup, the blue smoke you see can be caused by failed seals of the turbo bushing/bearings. Oil that is supposed to lubricate the bushings/bearings is now leaking into the intake and being burned in the cylinders.
You can confirm by the amount of motor oil lost in the engine.
The turbo can be rebuilt using a rebuilt kit but it will be kinda expensive. It is not recommended to use a surplus turbo unless you want to risk the same thing happening to you in a few months time.
BTW, have you done a cylinder compression test to check if the piston rings are okay?
