How much more fuel-efficient are EFI engines? In percentage, ball park figures.
Let's take for example the Corolla XL with 1.3 engine, versus the Vios with 1.3 engine.

Comfort, heck, a new car is still much better.

May 5th, 2005 12:13 AM #3IMHO, there are so many variables kaya mahirap mag generalize. Yung XE and Vios are generations apart as far as engine design is concerned so apples to oranges nga.
I think if you have lead foot syndrome, mas magastos ang EFI than carb. I'm guessing the fuel pump of EFI's are more powerful and the injectors effectively fuel discharge will be higher than a carb design.
Of course you can change injectors and jets/carbs but in general, yun ang hula ko.

Generally, EFI engines are more efficient than carb ones with the same displacement. The Vios 1.3 EFI with VVTi has been tested to be significantly more efficient than the 2E 1.3 engine of past Corolla XLs and XEs. It is believed that new technology progressively translates to engines with more performance but same efficiency, same performance but better efficiency, or even both.

May 5th, 2005 05:01 PM #5so better to get the vios, if fuel efficiency ang concern rather than the xl/xe.
halos pareho ang presyo nila na brand new

tanong ko lang kung ano yung mas fuel-efficient and less maintenance, carb-type engines o fuel-injected?
thanx!

The 12-month warranty on the factory battery ended a few days ago. SOH is still good at over 90%,...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
