July 10th, 2013 11:46 AM #1Sirs, ask ko lang. Critical ba yung amp rating ng mga battery booster cables? Sa 2.0Li na engine ano dapat rating?
TIA.

Most commercial jumper cables are 4 American wire gauge size do automotive use and will suffice for a 1.3 liter gas engine

^Thanks.
I had one of those cheap 250 or 300amp ones before. It broke (the clamp in particular) after we tried jumpstarting my neighbor's Beetle. :D
On connecting jumpers:
1. Red (+) on the drained battery
2. Red (+) on the good battery
3. Black (-) on the good battery
4. Black (-) on a chassis/ground point on the car with the drained battery.
This is correct right?Last edited by vinj; July 11th, 2013 at 11:35 AM.

Do note that the larger the engine displacement, the larger the cranking current. Also, Diesel engines, due to the nature of their design (higher compression ratio), will also have higher cranking current requirements compared to a similar-displacement gasoline engine.
