November 20th, 2006 10:43 PM #14afe should have no problem taking that kind of power.
160whp is weak na for a turbo single cam. we had a 1500cc honda engine with over 200whp on a stock block. also had a 1600 with 230whp before. and that's on a dyanmometer which reads low unlike some of the others that tend to read pretty high.

But the one question is, is that boost pressure run on a daily basis? I've seen Nissan GA16's dyno past 230 hp (on stock internals, no less), but they're set to around 160-200whp or so for daily use.
But then again, old iron blocks are relatively good platforms to turbo, because they're a bit thicker-walled than newer, more modern engines.

November 23rd, 2006 10:52 PM #3that hp level was run day in a day out for at least 3 years before we removed the turbo kit when the car was about to be sold.
power really depends on the combination of parts and how you prep the engine.

power really depends on a good tuner. When we're talking boost, how much psi are we talking about here?

Wow... that's pretty impressive for a cheapo iron-block FE.
I'd wager it's about 8-12 psi for those power levels?

Well, you never know, depends on the compression, I guess... for Nissans, 10-12 psi is about 200 hp... it might be up to 16 psi, I think, for the 323 1.6... yikes.

I'm going with Amaron when it's time to change. Motolite (which is more expensive than Amaron), has...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
