The same amount of space with better features for a lower price. In fact, its size is nearer to the current Altis. It looks more elegant over the current City and Vios. That’s just me talking.
The Volvo sedan looks are present in this car. It may not be an S40 or S60 but the angular front grille and headlight looks like a Volvo.

It's bigger than the average subcompact sedan. It's a subcompact class 1.5 liter sedan that's nearly as big as a compact sedan.
But of course with extra size comes greater weight.
Emgrand CVT = 1250kg
Vios 1.5 G CVT = 1145kg (source: Malaysian Toyota website)
City 1.5 V CVT = 1113kgLast edited by AG4; February 25th, 2022 at 10:58 PM.

The greater weight will be a factor on performance assuming you’re going on sprints or speed runs. On a normal road conditions, I guess it won’t matter much.
The Vios 1.3L AT which most people have is able to get by for most people-hauling purposes. It does not even have 100hp to work with.
The extra space is better felt for passengers and the user features will be very much appreciated. You get a better package for the same price as the Vios 1.3L E AT.

With heavier cars with no extra power, you'd notice the drop in performance more when you have more passengers on board.
Emgrand's 1.5 makes 102hp and 142Nm of torque. That's just 4 more horsepower and 19Nm of torque more than the 165kg lighter Vios 1.3 CVT. The Emgrand 1.5 CVT has pretty much the same torque-to-weight ratio as a Vios 1.3 E CVT.
True. It's pretty much a compact sedan, but priced lower than the average 1.5 subcompact.Last edited by AG4; February 26th, 2022 at 06:23 PM.

The Emgrand Comfort is at 798k while the Emgrand Premium is at 908k. The lower priced model is already within Mirage price range.
