Changan UNI-T: from all sides

UNI, for universe, is a new sub-brand under Changan Motor aimed at young folk. The T is their first car; a crossover with a sharply cut nose.

The black car on the pictures is the top end 'Sport' model, whereas the white one is a base-spec car.

The Sport is equipped with an L3 autonomous driving system. For that, the car has 5 millimeter-wave radars, 6 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.

Chinese media say the UNI-T can drive fully autonomous inside a "congested city", which would be a remarkable feat as most current autonomous systems are highway-only.

Power comes from a new 1.5 turbo with 180 hp and 300 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT. The Sport gets 4WD, the base model FWD. A more powerful 2.0 turbo will be added to the lineup later.

Price of the UNI-T will range from 120.000 to 150.000 yuan. But if you want one you still have to wait a while as Changan will only launch it in June.
