I am keen on buying the Sealion 6 but I am concerned with what you are saying on its battery system... Pls clarify...
Blade battery is older relative to all other BYD vehicles ... not "old" ... Sales agents main objective is to sell ...

That being said ... BYD Sealion 6 is a good hybrid car ... 5 neighbors bought one ... one of the neighbors bought 2 ...

From my understanding, the hybrid system of Toyota would constantly work (both the electric motor and the engine) to run the car. On the other hand, on the BYD Sealion 6, we can always set it on pure EV mode and not run the engine even for a week or month, if I am using it in the city where my speed is limited to 60km/h. My BYD agent even said that the only time the engine would kick-in if (1) I set it on PHEV mode; (2) battery is under 20% and (3) the speed reaches 80km/h.... Is my information correct?
BYD uses bigger batteries for their hybrids - so you get better range. plus the fact that they're plug-in hybrids.

Our Zenix battery is so small, the engine will start even before we pay for our parking.

Is the eMax 7 battery (Pure EV) a newer blade battery than sealion 6? I know one is hybrid and the other is pure EV... but in terms of "new" battery system, pareho lang ba sila? I have heard of BYD Blade battery 2.0... but has this been implemented on the eMax 7? I hope you can assist me in clarifying this matter before I shall decide which between Sealion 6 and eMax 7 should I purchase...Thanks in advance

Laki pala problem ng BYD sa stocks ng mga collision parts (bumpers, lights, etc.). I have 3 friends na 3 months na wala pa din available replacement parts.

Sealion 6 would be the practical choice for most people ... an entry into EV world if you don't know yet what to expect with EVs ... Sealion 6 does have better interior fit and finish than the eMax 7 ... they had to cut corners somewhere to meet the price point ...

If purely for City driving then get the Emax7. since you already have other cars for longer drives.
The emax 7 still uses the BYD blade 1.0 not the newer 2.0 just like the SL6.
AFAIK None of the local ByD cars offers the newer 2.0 blade battery.
Don't worry about the battery, even if its the first gen Blade battery it will last longer than some ICE engines. its also safer than other types of batteries. plus 8 year warranty.

even if the reliability of the car is not in question,
the lack of aftermarket support is glaringly a reason for shunning them.

    Aftersales support, you mean?

They do have some aftermarket parts... though not as exhaustive as more established ICE cars. Even then, they're mostly accessories, not major parts.

    oo nga naman!
    aftersales.
    piyezas.

i read of horror stories of languishing waits for common-enough spare parts that any decent car provider should have ready stock on...
