December 28th, 2008 09:26 PM #31Sorry about what you have experienced. If I would be the one to sum up, I would say the worst service I've had would be from "H" brand. But I would never generalize it because I also have friends who has "H"-branded cars and experience better service than mine, so I guess, it's a case-to-case basis. I know the stigma GM is experiencing here. I made a risk of getting the Captiva, believing they are going to do their best to support this flagship model. And that's what they are doing. It would be true that some parts will not be easy to get but that is also true to any dealerships/brands.
Did you get a Captiva also? Anyways, I also had problem with the suspension seat. But when they changed it, problem went away. I've got problem with battery. They changed it, no problem. You know, we have to understand not all cars are the same even though they're the same model. Sometimes a car, 1/100 in the assembly line will have several problems. So point is, even a Ferrari will have problems because most often, its mechanical, its physics. A lot of probabilities to consider. Engineering maybe an exact science but "probabilities" isn't.
I heard people talking about serious problems with Captiva, but I have yet to see one. I usually even ask my SA at Chevy Makati when a Captiva is scheduled for service, why is being serviced, problems etc. So far I have never seen one that is serious enough to require continuous attention from GM.
I may also be lucky because I was one of those owners of the first batch of Captivas and GM is very careful in handling customer care specially with this then newly-introduced model.
If you have specific complaints, do it in writing, addressed to both Chevy and GM. Depending on how you treat them, I'm sure they will respond appropriately.
Generalized-campaigning against this brand or the company will always be a last resort for me. As I always believe, what goes around comes around.
Goodluck!

December 29th, 2008 07:32 AM #32I already did.
Well that was my experience and opinion and I am very much entitled to it.
That is why I am posting here so that whatever goes around will not come to others ... or at least as a feedback .. or if you or somebody you know work in GM please take it as a constructive criticism.
Lucky you.. you've got a very good the customer service experience.
But as for me, one is enough.

December 31st, 2008 01:02 AM #35I am not against opinions given or am I being in favor of one-sided opinions. What I am against is the sort of smear campaign and OT posting. The thread title is clear to its subject. Yun lamang po. Peace!
Back to topic.
My 4x2 Diesel Captiva's FC is 8-8.5 km/liter city driving. Usually makati-ortigas area where traffic volume is at it's worst (well, next to Manila). My friend's Fortuner gives about 6.5 km/liter in the same traffic condition.

March 11th, 2009 11:16 PM #36I bought my Chevy Captiva 4x2 Diesel last November. Admittedly, I have some problems when I bought it. 1) It steers to the right 2) wipers dragging 3) rust on the exhaust pipe (i think there's a thread re this). I brought it back to the dealer. Singlehandly, they fixed it! Since then, i don't have any problems. And I definitely love my Chevy Captiva!! If I were to ask, Chevy Captiva is better than Honda CRV. Hey, its my opinion, ok. Coz I test drive both before I bought my Chevy Captiva. Now that the price of diesel dropped tremendously, im sure you will consider it more. Oh I have one problem though, the Chevy Captiva is so safe, so easy to drive and so comfortable, my wife is using it now!

March 12th, 2009 05:20 PM #379 months and 18thou plus km na ang captiva ko, so far no problems. pansin ko lang parang mahina aircon niya ngayon pag nasa fan speed 1 but ok naman pag 2 up. may strange sound lang intermittent pag lagpas ng 1500 rpm which i believe is coming from the turbo. i read in the malaysian forum na it's from the turbo boost and is remedied by reprogramming the ecu for the turbo. problem is wala pa yung software upgrade ng pc sa casa kaya di ma mareprogram. not much of a problem naman daw kasi it's air sa turbo mismo causing the noise parang sa wastegate ng old turbos escaping air. ang tunog eh parang swooshing o croooshng. hirap gayahin sound. may certain models daw lumabas accdg sa malaysian site which are affected by this though reprogramming corrects it.

March 16th, 2009 07:25 PM #38Hi Captiva Owners,
Totoo ba yun?
Tsaka pala may 7 seater na sila

March 16th, 2009 07:42 PM #39no problem naman for GM dito coz ang affected naman is the american counterpart. the captiva and other models sold here are GMDAT models, asia pacific models ata. GM here owns Daewoo of Korea and they design the cars together. as far as i know stable naman ang company. kung gusto mo gas version, meron na 7 seater which is a good buy compared to other 7 seater brands. may pics of the 3rd row on the other post.
