July 6th, 2017 07:01 PM #612After about 3 weeks, the blower of our Spin has been replaced. The unit is now operational. Chev casa has informed us that the throttle module spare part is on order and will be arriving soon. For the blower of the radiator, the bill is 16,000Php. My unit is 3 years and 2 months old. The ODO is at 54,000 kms. Since the warranty is 5 years bumper to bumper, I was told by Chev Casa that my bill is Zero Php. The unit is covered up to 5 years.
This Spin has been my most troublesome car.....
aircon compressor with all associated repairs costs 37,800Php
radiator blower (replaced twice) costs 16,000Php per replacement
Automatic lever ....didnt see the cost
Throttle module....I havent seen its cost yet as the spare will be arriving....
In all of these troubles and after all repairs were done, I paid Chev ZERO Php.
As much as the downtime of the car is a big discomfort to us, I must be fair to everyone
and state the facts with minimal emotions involved.
My previous Chev(2011) had a downtime of 27 days before the spare came and the unit completely repaired. This current issue took 20 days for Chev to resolve. The aircon compressor had a 3 day downtime. The automatic lever and previous blower were replaced in a day as the spares were pre-ordered. I am assuming the throttle module will be a plug and play thing when it arrives with the unit working immediately. This whole experience may not be to the liking of everyone. So its up to the buyers to weigh the pros and cons and see what would suit their preferences and their needs. For me, the improvement of the reduced downtime is showing Chev's commitment to the improvement of their service to their buyers. To some it still may fall short. But it is a step in the right direction for Chev.

Glad youre following up with Chevy. some just wait and wait without any followups hence they get fed up once that 30day passes.
So the car works with that throttle module defective?

July 6th, 2017 08:32 PM #614Yes, the throttle module is defective. It was temporarily repaired by the maintenance crew.
The crew informed me that their repair is only temporary and replacements should be ordered.
I must commend the maintenance crew for this, after they did their repairs, the throttle module has not exhibited
the "issue". I am praying it wont until the new parts arrive. I almost bumped the car in front of me when the throttle was faulty and not yet temporarily repaired. The RPM surged from 800 to 1300 without gas input. Fortunately that at that time, my foot was slowly releasing the brake. I had to suddenly press the break hard. This phenomenon progressed and became much more frequent. Being a safety issue, I had to have my unit checked. I will post any update soon. Also thanks for your inputs. Greatly appreciate it.

July 27th, 2017 11:06 AM #615The throttle module of my SPIN has arrived and been replaced.
It took sometime, pero Chev has replaced it.
Bill on paper is 15Tplus.
Signed the paper and paid nothing.
Chev honored their warranty.
I am thankful for all your tips guys.
The issue would have not been solved if not for your inputs.
Thank you.

August 13th, 2017 09:31 PM #617Glad to help bro.
My unit is back after 2months sitting at the dealer, ni service car wala pinalit. Kung hindi ko pa nakumbinse ang TCCI warranty dept to prove that fuel pump is a powertrain component eh ichacharge talaga saakin ang defective pump(worth P19,700) and they keep on insisting na strainer daw yun at wear and tear part
This is my last Chevy, sana in 2yrs time dahil sa hina ng benta eh tuluyan magsara na ang GM phils.
