Good thing about it is that it's really cushy and more spacious than other Euro CUVs. The Q5 and old X3 were suprisingly cramped (more Tucson than CRV). Have not driven the new X3 though which looks much bigger than before (almost like an old X5).

Will look at the q5 tfsi this weekend. The new pricing makes a big difference. The all new x3 is out in q2 pa.

The first time I saw the Q2, I fell in love with it. The problem is my son wants to take up master's degree abroad so I have to budget for the future.

I think a starting salary at the 20's level is actually about par for the course for a fresh grad. It's just reflective of the overall picture that millennials and gen Zs are starting out in comparatively tougher times to previous generations.

The situation in the PH is not as bleak as in the US because we have OFW jobs that can get you to 6 digits easily, but the reality is that it's getting more expensive to achieve the usual "milestones" that were expected from people at a certain age - getting their own house, getting married, having kids, etc.

Not many Filipinos go for post-graduate studies, but skyrocketing costs also apply for education so it'd be hard for a typical fresh grad to save for a foreign masters. Most of my friends who took their Master's abroad relied on scholarships - I know your son has a stellar academic record so this should be achievable for him. I can ask around if you need any help going about the scholarship applications.

Of course, I also understand that as a parent, you'd want to give the best for your child and it's certainly noble to give them another leg up through education, but I think your son will also feel more fulfillment if he achieves his dream through a scholarship of his own merit.

A colleague during my younger years told me that dito daw sa Pinas not much weight is given to those with masters degrees unless they were made to take them by their employers for the purpose of grooming them, in this case, sagot ng company or university or grant.

I wanted to go to IESE for post graduate studies but my parents definitely could not afford it. My car was due for replacement but I said I want to use the money for school instead. So that's the budget I had for my masters. I tried for scholarship along with a friend and we both failed. A mutual friend was able to get a scholarship though with the same organization but in a different school. Foreign student fee pa lang at that time cost hundreds of thousands already

It's still the same case until now. Unless you went to AIM or abroad for masters.

I always tell my friends who plan to take masters to get a promotion or better job opportunities, kung di rin lang naman AIM or abroad, wag na. No bearing talaga (except in ADB but they prefer UPd grads)
