Do you mean, that you've registered the vehicle this month, on the process of Transfer of Ownership?

Sorry, if you misunderstood me, and for my lack of words.

From what I stated before, I mean while you're on the process(Transfer/Change of Ownership) within the LTO, when they seek for the car insurance(For the purpose of registration), still not under your name (TPL/CTPL), you may seek from them, and ask an assistance, what car insurance and where, that they can or will recommend and endorsed to you, just to continue the process of your applied Change/Transfer of Ownership. You are not supposed to submit the endorsement to them.[emoji2]

However, if your vehicle had already registered through the process under Change/Transfer of Ownership, and they did not seek for the car insurance, they presumed, it is, the vehicle is still insured, not only under your name. And you must apply for another car insurance(TPL/CTPL), under your name, with the details pertaining to the vehicle CR.

The previous owner already registered the car this month prior to me purchasing it.

It is clearer now. Thank you very much for answering my questions.

I meant the previous owner registered the car but not under my name yet.

Question, is it wise if I just wait for next year to transfer ownership together with the renewal of car registration? So that I just go to LTO one time?

    Thanks!

Yes, you can do that. If you want it early or on the next year registration, that's all up to you.

Just like what *yapoy86 said. Just bring all the necessary documents, and original CR and OR of the vehicle.

I am planning to sell my car before the year ends. I'm not comfortable with the idea of having my name on a car I don't own anymore. What's the best way to "encourage" the next owner to process the change as soon as possible? Should I get an HPG clearance as soon as I offer it for sale? I already know where my mother file is because I just had the chattel cancelled a few months ago.

I think 7 days lang ang validity ng HPG clearance. Kialangan ulit kumuha ng bago if mag expire na yung clearance.

Ah ok so when I have these I can safely give them the orig OR/CR and if anything happens to the car wala na akong pananagutan? How about the MMDA's no-contact apprehension? Sa address ko pa rin papapadala ang notice? Di nga lang nila ma-renew ang registration without paying right?
