    Vehicle/Model/Year: 2004 Mitsubishi Adventure (facelifted)
    Engine Type/Size: Diesel / 2.5L
    Transmission Type: MT
Fuel Consumption in km/L: City (12km/l); Highway (13km/l); mixed City & Highway (13.5km/l)
    Diesel Brand: Flying V Envirotek
Additional Info: I usually maintain 30/36psi (front/rear) tire pressure, and most of the time, only my wife rides with me.

I'm quite pleased to note that I averaged 13.9km/l from Antipolo City to Subic, on a full tank of biodiesel; hindi pa umabot sa half-tank yung konsumo ko. Partida pa, I encountered slight traffic sa Pampanga.

Before leaving Subic, I topped up on Petron Diesel Max and checked my tire pressure. I noticed that the run wasn't as smooth as I had been accustomed to, even as I was carrying the same number of passengers (3) and the same amount of cargo.

I don't know about the others, pero I got relatively poor mileage on Shell Diesoline. Maybe I just came across a bad batch, but fuel from two separate outlets (Shell Sumulong Highway and Shell Batangas) giving me the same dismal readings is too bothersome to be just coincidence.

I found data below in the "Ford Everest" threads from 3/38/07 to 4/02/07. Data is summarized in format I suggested for reference.

In stop-and-go, short distance traffic it really eats up fuel as the engine doesnt reach it's optimal operating temps and diesels are more sensitive to operating temperature more then gas engines when it comes to efficiency.

In contrast, my officemate is reporting around 9+ on their new 4X2 Eve a/t (San Mateo to Makati during the weekdays).

travelled 460kms FC 9.4km/lit although I think this can still be improve, base on the driving my driver did I expected a higher consumption, since he would keep his feet steady on the pedal with an rpm of almost 2500, when on highway driving I think keeping it below 2000 can easily be done.

2007 mitsu strada gls 2.5 crdi (no additives)

highway maintained speed of 100kph computer reading is <12.3 km/lit>

moderate traffic (metro manila), reading is <10.6 km/lit>

combined highway and mod traffic (pampanga to metro manila) <11.1 km/lit>

*driving style (normal-conservative) (upshifts before 3200rpm)

Last holy week, i went from pampanga to baguio--sagada--banauwe--n. vizcaya--n.ecija and then back to pampanga....total fuel consumption: P2,600.00. I could'nt believe it but it's true!

All indications show that the BioFuels Act will be implemented as scheduled in a few days on May 6, 2007. There are reports it will result in an additional cost of 30 to 50 centavos per liter. See: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/storypage.aspx?StoryId=74523

This should not be un-expected. The use of BioFuels reduces harmful emissions. Not all of them, however, except Coconut Methyl Ester or CME biodiesel (even at very minute blends) can reportedly deliver better fuel mileage.

I started this thread to encourage everyone to determine their diesel fuel mileage now so that we can have baseline data to use for comparison purposes after the BioFuels act is enforced (or after we have used CME blended diesel for several months.)

Believe it or not, there is very little documented data on the ability of CME blended to actually deliver savings due to better fuel mileage. By having before and after data, our findings can help promote CME as the excellent biodiesel that it is -- something we can all be proud to export globally.

Please determine your (100% diesel) fuel mileage now while you still can and post it in the format suggested above. Thank you.

In case you've been following my Fuel Mileage observations on 0.5% CME using simulated dyno test procedures for more accurate data, today I obtained 12.98 km/L northbound and 13.23 km/L southbound in the NLEX.

Total mileage on CME to date = 13,595.3 kms. So this data can be considered as results from long-term use. Fuel = Petron Diesel Max.

These values are slightly lower because ongoing construction in the NLEX required some slow travel (in 3rd & 4th gear at the viaduct & a bridge between San Simon & San Fernando) that uses more fuel.

These values, however, are still consistent as they represent 8.25% and 10.34% increases in mileage on a baseline of 11.99 km/L on pure diesel.

When the BioFuels Act is implemented on May 06, my observations will shift to 1.0% CME. I am curious what mileage increase will result from the "higher" percentage blend. Aren't you?
