When I purchased the Sylphy 1.6 CVT, the sales agent told me that okay to use 91RON as well. After the first top up, I noticed something odd in the performance. So I checked the manual. Lo and behold, it said recommended was 95RON. Now, it can run on 91RON, but there is a degredation in performance, especially when climbing inclines and fully loaded (or both hehe!).

So per the manual of the Picanto I found, it does say, it can run on 91 as well. If that same wording exists, then that could be the reason.

I understand using Blaze 100 if Petron XCS wasn't doing the trick. Well, if the fleet card is used up, I do recommend Unioil as well. I am personally no longer using Petron after the issue with the Montero. Though it was a diesel, during the time I suffered a check engine line, the service tech told me I had corrosion in my fuel system (fuel neck specifically here). And when I asked if it was common, they told me that per their survey, most of those that suffered gassed up at Petron. Most of the cases were also corrosion in the fuel tank as well. So I was somewhat lucky that it was fuel neck only and had that part easily replaced. So I personally stopped using Petron.

I can't remember but, wasn't it also a reason why Volkswagen didn't want to release their diesel engines here? I think it was a rumor because of Petron Fuels being tested and not passing their QC standards and would cause engine issues. Again, I can't recall where I read it, if it was just a post/comment or an article.

Edit 1: Saw your post before this reply. That's good. At least there is more benefit when using Blaze 100, both in FC and cost efficiency per liter =). Since you are with a Fleet Card, I can't recommend credit card.

EDIT 2: But for those who are also topping up in Unioil, try getting Security Bank's Cashback Card. Rebate for Fuel is 4% ANY GAS STATION. So along with the 2.50php per liter diesel or 5php per liter gasoline, the total discounted amount is also subject for rebate under Security Bank Cashback Card.

And say you can't find a Unioil and forced to top up in any other gas station, even Phoenix etc. As long as it is a Gas Station, Security Bank will give a Rebate on the month of the billing the charge was incurred.

Max rebate within one month is 1000php. You can also use the card for grocery shopping. 5% rebate. =) Hope it helps people here.
Aha.. it looks like petron diesel is of poor quality.. kasi yung mitsu adventure ko ay kinalawang din yung fuel filler neck..

Konti lang nagdidiscuss ng diesel fuel dito, kaya heto na

My diesel truck is Euro II rated, so I've read that Euro V diesel fuel has less sulfur (<10ppm) means less lubrication, correct? So the injection pump / injectors are at risk of running dry and may fail because of heat soak.. So has Unioil countered this with additives that lubricate in place of the lesser sulfur? I'd like to know if anyone has sampled Unioil's diesel fuel..

I'm currently feeding my truck Caltex diesel with techron D, and I know its already Euro IV.

    Truck is a D-Max 3.0L, 2017 version.

Well since Euro2 was phased out I don't have a choice [emoji23], but for good reason at least. I'm curious about Euro 5 so.. here I am asking about it.

Well using additional additives is like a bandaid solution for a problem that could have been prevented by picking the correct fuel from the beginning. I'm merely asking if someone has tested the fuels from Unioil and got stats especially on its add pack, to help me decide if their fuel may be good for my diesel engine.

Backward compatible ang Euro V Diesel nila sa mga previous EuroX cars.

UniOil 95 and 97 user here. I can’t say no to 5 pesos per liter discount with my S&R card.
