Thats true, but Petron stations are also doing the same, several Petron stations were penalized years ago for buying fuel from other sources.

to my little knowledge on this, until now marami paring gumagawa nyan, kumukuha sa ibang supply mga retailers to gain more profit, kaya nga marami ding napasarang mga bulilit petron, ganon ka strict ang petron sa dumping ng fuel nila, even shell are very strict din sila sa mga illegal dumping of fuels, ang alam ko yung ibang petron may mga cctv sila lang ang nakaka kita, direct sa company not sa retailer, di ko lang alam sa iba. ang alam ko yung iba medyo maluwag

Interesting enough, parehas kami ng car ni Jut but with different results.

We get the same fuel consumption with different RONs, but I experience a difference in acceleration.

I went kase from 97 to 91 because the lack of supply; I also felt a ever so slightly bump from XCS to 97 Unioil.

I don't have a dyno/lap times to prove it though. I just felt it.

I guess this will be a never ending topic to discuss.

If you own an indie gas station you can buy fuel from anyone willing to sell to you

Whether local refiner or product importer

I may agree on the issue of fuel consumption results (no significant differences) for both the 91 and 95 RON fuel grades but for the acceleration part, this is noticeable for me.

I don't track my fc now after i was able to establish good fc using petron blaze.. i based my computation on my manual calculation and monthly report of petron fleet card.

I find the 2 peso difference of blaze more economical rather than buying the cheaper alternative and consume more at least for me... anyway i get free gas.. hehe

poor FC when using xtra unleaded91 and XCS95.

Since i have a petron fleet card my option is to use blaze 100.
Hi, That could be the case. Which is why I'm curious what your manual says?

When I purchased the Sylphy 1.6 CVT, the sales agent told me that okay to use 91RON as well. After the first top up, I noticed something odd in the performance. So I checked the manual. Lo and behold, it said recommended was 95RON. Now, it can run on 91RON, but there is a degredation in performance, especially when climbing inclines and fully loaded (or both hehe!).

So per the manual of the Picanto I found, it does say, it can run on 91 as well. If that same wording exists, then that could be the reason.

I understand using Blaze 100 if Petron XCS wasn't doing the trick. Well, if the fleet card is used up, I do recommend Unioil as well. I am personally no longer using Petron after the issue with the Montero. Though it was a diesel, during the time I suffered a check engine line, the service tech told me I had corrosion in my fuel system (fuel neck specifically here). And when I asked if it was common, they told me that per their survey, most of those that suffered gassed up at Petron. Most of the cases were also corrosion in the fuel tank as well. So I was somewhat lucky that it was fuel neck only and had that part easily replaced. So I personally stopped using Petron.

I can't remember but, wasn't it also a reason why Volkswagen didn't want to release their diesel engines here? I think it was a rumor because of Petron Fuels being tested and not passing their QC standards and would cause engine issues. Again, I can't recall where I read it, if it was just a post/comment or an article.

Edit 1: Saw your post before this reply. That's good. At least there is more benefit when using Blaze 100, both in FC and cost efficiency per liter =). Since you are with a Fleet Card, I can't recommend credit card.

EDIT 2: But for those who are also topping up in Unioil, try getting Security Bank's Cashback Card. Rebate for Fuel is 4% ANY GAS STATION. So along with the 2.50php per liter diesel or 5php per liter gasoline, the total discounted amount is also subject for rebate under Security Bank Cashback Card.

And say you can't find a Unioil and forced to top up in any other gas station, even Phoenix etc. As long as it is a Gas Station, Security Bank will give a Rebate on the month of the billing the charge was incurred.

Max rebate within one month is 1000php. You can also use the card for grocery shopping. 5% rebate. =) Hope it helps people here.
