Like ABS EBD Brake Assist And Airbags? VSA ESC etc?

And nakakainis pa dito is Wala Siyang HEADLIGHT!

for me, it really pays to invest in a car na may mga safety features. Sana one day, standard lahat ng ito sa mga cars. at hindi optional.

share ko lang experience ko mga ka tsikot!

A stable vehicle that can swerve into the next lane without much fuss helps a lot when avoiding anything. One car in front of me swerved into the safety lane (we don't often have medians, instead we have a safety lane) dahil di niya nakita yung car in front that stopped. Meanwhile here I come barreling down so I had to swerve into the right lane to avoid the car. The car was so stable parang it was on rails, this despite its heavy curb weight and lack of ABS. Yes, ABS truly helps but a good stable chassis always is priority when doing evasive maneuvers.

Glad you were able to avoid that car. ABS works when you fully step on it, talagang nagvibrate siya to regain control without skidding.

I hope none of us will have to go through these but sometimes it's just our lucky day.

    Seatbelt? 2 or 3 times.

    Good handling? Dozens of times.

    Passenger Cell? Once.

    Airbags? Never.

ABS? Never. Almost hit a taxi once due to over-active ABS on the Exalta, though...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

The ABS on my pick-up has given me absolute control under extreme braking conditions during hi-way drives. The seatbelt keeps me planted in my seat during the up and down bumps which happens often in a pick-up.

Fortunately, I've never had the experience using the Airbags and hopefully never will.

From what I've learned, even if I had all the available safety features on board, in the end it would all depend on the most important safety feature of all: me, the driver.

While it is indeed worthwhile to select a vehicle with many safety features, let us also remember that the best form of safety comes from driving prudently based on prevailing road conditions.

On provincial highways I rarely go over 70 kph when it is raining. Approaching curves and other high-risk areas at night, I slow down even more, since I know from experience how far my van can travel before coming to a full stop in wet weather.

My CRDI Starex sometimes makes me feel like driving and overtaking too aggressively, and just last week I was thankful that it had ABS, which allowed me to steer and apply the brakes at the same time and thus avoid rear-ending the AUV that suddenly stopped in front of me after the two of us passed a slow vehicle on the highway. On hindsight though, I know that I should have been more patient in overtaking and maintaining adequate distance, which would have allowed me to avoid the near-accident in the first place.

kailangan din ng presence of mind. it was 11pm at that time. i was not able to get the plate number of that car. tsk tsk

Ilang dekada na akong walang bangga bukod sa fender benders (na ako pa binabangga) so I can say no to all. It has always been situational awareness, anticipation, defensive driving, and prayer that has saved me. Still, it's good to know they're there when you might need them.

I'd say once. It was almost dusk. The car's ABS saved me from hitting the car in front of me which stopped suddenly because the cars in front of it did the same.

The road was sloping down and I managed to drive to the shoulder, beside that car. I immediately looked in the rear view mirror as I knew that the cars behind me are travelling fast, too. The other cars behind me did the same (on the lane and shoulder).....

Whew!,- that was scary! It could have been a pile-up!
