I will be bringing a small number of extra kits for on the spot buys at a discount since there will be no shipping and handling fees. The kit will be 8800P.

Just so you know what the old Devildoc looks like. And if you were not aware I am active duty US Navy as well and have been in the Navy 16 years. I have conducted many exercises in the Philippines from Operation Balikatan 2006, Operation Balance Pistol 2006 and a 6 month deployment with Operation Enduring Freedom Philippines 2005-2006 (Down south) way down south.

See ya at Clark.

Dear DevilDoc:

Ooooh, guess who is out in his best dress whites!!!

Look even better with a couple of WI injection kits (for free!).

Dear Mr. DevilDoc:

I'm curious, the page on the Shurflo pump indicates its a high quality diaphragm pump, but does not identify the type of motor (my guess is DC series?).

Second, in using the voltage controller, to control the pump via Pulse Width Modulation, delivery pressure is proportional to pump speed, right?

Therefore at low speeds, pump and spray pressure is also low, at high speeds the nozzle size dictates the maximum operating pressure, right?

So I might get less atomizing pressure at low speed and full atomization at high speed. Not really ideal.

What if I make the pump deliver to a accumulator (common rail!) and tap the rail with lets say, 3 lines each going to a separate solenoid-valve, nozzle combination.

The pump will be controlled by a simple pressure switch with cut-in at say 150 psi and cut-out at 200 psi. All it would do is keep the rail supplied at the right pressure. I would install a check valve to prevent backflow to the pump.

The solenoids and the nozzles would be triggered by the progressive controller, not the motor.

I could use a very small nozzle (maybe 0.5 gph) for good low speed atomization, mated with the 1st solenoid, operating from idle up to 1200-1500 rpm, then a slightly larger one (1 gph) operating from 1500 rpm up to say 2500 rpm, and then the largest one (2 gph) from 2500 rpm up.

Turn on times (duration) are determined by the progressive controller! Operating pressure remains constant (and high), delivery is tailored to demand, and I get NO leaks during high manifold vacuum situations.

I could use a thermostatic switch to prevent delivery if the engine is cold.

Whaddaya think?

Best Regards,

Dusky Lim

The pumps are 12V DC you can run them up to 18 but we don't recommend it. Most vehicles put our around 13 to 13.8 when the vehicle is running. Our kits come with our custom check valve.
http://www.alcohol-injection.com/wat...-valve-64.html

The standard kit gets the first unit 80% of the time some times we put in the inline one. You won't find a better check valve out there. These are custom made for us.

Pump specs
* Self priming up to 8 vertical feet (2.4m)
* Chemical resistant materials
* Can run dry without damage
* Designed for heavy duty methanol injection systems
* Built in reverse check valve

So you can save the money on reverse check valves and check valves we already have you covered.

As for your question about the controller. and the PWM the controller will not let the pump go less than 25% duty cycle. Even with this and a M3 nozzle your pressure would be well over 100psi, The nozzles atomize at 40psi. Nozzle size determines pump pressure. On our pumps even a open hose makes more than 40psi of pressure so atomization is not a issue.

I think you might be thinking to hard into the kits, We have done them on pretty much every vehicle on the road. The first think you don't want to do is over complicate a system this gives you more things that can go wrong. Alcohol injection in itself is a pretty simple thing. You just have to make sure you use quality parts to deliver the right amount of fluid at the right amount of time.

As for the cold engine. Simply put in a toggle switch to turn the system on.

With the progressive system there is no need for different stages, The delivery is as smooth as a fuel injector. Our controller operates at 1khz so it turns the pump on and off at 1000 times per second giving you seamless control. You use the start and full point to adjust your pressure over a given range. We have shown almost no gains over our progressive unit vs multiple stages. This is a Dyno, street, and track tested system when you start adding things especially electrical into the mix you just giving yourself potential problems. Our new controller that will be out in a few months will give you a lot more user interface in the vehicle. Can't really talk much about it on the forums but it awesome and after 30,000USD in developing the thing I wouldn't expect anything less. I'll just say it has 8 times the computing power of any controller on the market Nuff said.

Plus on turbo charged vehicles the thing they will noticed right off the bat is that the vehicles boost climbs like a rocket compared to stock plus they gain boost with no other changes on turbo diesels, You can't get much adjustment in 1 to 2 seconds of boost.
