Yup, I have a 2 week old Tucson on my driveway.
I was hell bent on getting a 3.0 4x4 Fortuner earlier this year. But close comparison in the options list favored the Korean brand, not to mention the arithmetic side of things (more bang for your buck).
Good luck on your decision.

oops, I thought I was thinking about the Ford company. haha..
Well tucson before was my first choice, but then Subaru and I met.
Hahaha.. I may consider Tucson to be on my list if that is the case.
Im gonna check the diesel tucson on youtube videos.
But against over Subaru and Mazda,I think you prefer Subaru though its pricier.

November 25th, 2014 07:31 PM #15IMO:
Power:
1.) Subaru Forester XT
2.) Kia Sorento LX / Hyundai Santa Fe 2wd (sorento may be better coz it's lighter)
Comfort:
1.) Hyundai Santa Fe 4x2
2.) Maybe Toyota Rav4/Honda CRV
Utility:
1.) Montero Sport GLS-V
2.) Kia Sorento LX (best trunk space if 5 seater hands down)
Fun:
1.) Subaru Forester XT (Power + Handling)
2.) Mazda Cx5 (if 2.5 Li variant)
Bang for the Buck:
1.) Kia Sorento LX - Can be had for a bit less than 1.3M (after discounts); with savings you can upgrade everything later on (mags/tires, audio, and other toys) and it will still end up less expensive than similar mid size CUVs.
2.) Montero Sport GLS-V
Fuel Economy:
1.) Kia Sportage Diesel (lighter fwd variant)
2.) Kia Sorento LX
Chose the Sorento for very practical reasons, but ended up being really happy with the car. Can't help but smile every time i gas up and floor the pedal :D

November 25th, 2014 09:45 PM #16Agree with the sorento. You have the power of that 2.0 sedan, utility because of the cargo space, frugality of diesel and higher height vs sedan. Sta fe sana pero ang mahal. Kaya eto na lang na twin nya

November 26th, 2014 02:59 AM #17Not considering the M/T Santa Fe? It's 200k cheaper than the matic variant. You get better gas mileage and performance too.
I really wouldn't want to consider gas fed CUVs for daily driving, especially if it involves heavy traffic. Diesels are way better in the fuel cost department and have improved much in terms of performance and NVH.
We have a 2011 Santa Fe R eVGT. Clatter and vibration characteristic of a diesel is still mildly perceptible though, personally, not to the point of discomfort. Same goes true for our 2013 Strada GLS-V. Both load up solely with Unioil Euro 4 Diesel and I've never seen any black smoke. We really love the diesels, especially since fuel consumption doesn't seem to rise much with lead footed driving, while still giving the same amount of satisfaction as our gas-fed cars, if not more.

November 26th, 2014 10:28 AM #19The CX-5 Pro currently has a 99k All-In DP Promo or 100k discount. Might swing your decision a bit.

Is it just me or have traffic worsened this week compared to pre-Holy Week? Is it because people...
