Hi all,
I've narrowed down my choices between the following:
1. Subaru XV 2.0i (base model) P1.348M with 60K cash discount + Crosstex kits worth 60K; or
2. Mazda CX-5 FWD Pro P1.55M with no discount but with Yojin 3.
The things going for the CX-5 and the extra 200K (roughly):
1. It's the latest model, unlike the XV which will be replaced by the 2nd gen XV by the end of the year;
2. Bigger vehicle;
3. Rear camera;
4. Electric (push button) parking brake;
5. i-stop idling system; and
6. Skyactiv
What do you think are the advantages of the XV apart from the price?
1. AWD instead of FWD;
2. Better safety features?
Thoughts?

The Forester XT and CX5 2.5 cost roughly the same. Hands down XT - the power and space are amazing. It's also a true AWD that can handle difficult terrain.

June 22nd, 2017 12:16 PM #8I drive a CX-5 2.0 base model and satisfied naman ako overall, specially yung sa likod kapag nag-go-grocery maluwag talaga ang space. And of course yojin3 naka 1.5 years na akong walang bayad sa maintenance. Confirmed na maganda ang handling, kahit winding yung road di ako nagme-menor ng todo, parang sedan lang.
Yung VX ng officemate ko parang masikip sa loob at maliit lang trunk space pareho ng mitsu asx.

June 22nd, 2017 12:34 PM #9Naisip ko rin na closer na ang price ng CX5 2.5L AWD to the XT, pero since you get free PMS for 3 years with Yojin 3 and I also assume similar or maybe cheaper ang long term maintenance both brands or baka masmura kaunti si Mazda.
Isa pa is mas future proof ang CX-5 kaysa sa XT considering the price.... next year most likely refresh pa rin naman ang Forester.

The "all-new" CX5 still doesn't appeal to me as much as the FXT. The turbo engine paired with that chassis is sublime. If the engine doesn't matter much to you, then I guess that's why you're more drawn to the CX5.
If you really like the CX5, then go for it.

Not just the engine. It's literally a D-Max with Mazda styling, but everything mechanical is Isuzu....
