If it were only those two, what would be your pick?
Accent 1.4 GL AT vs Rio 1.4 EX AT?

I'd vote for the Rio for the ff. reasons:

    - better suspension
    - less of them on the roads
    - fresher design
    - better interior
    - bigger rims (15" vs 14")

    * re: suspension, rims & interior = yeah this seems to be the case in favor of the Rio. Pero magkaka-alaman once I get to test drive ;)

    * I think there are an equal number of Accents and Rios on the road now. Or if not, the difference is not that big.

    * I like both of the designs. Mas sporty and Rio. Mas sleek yung sa Accent.

    * I think one thing going for the Accent is that (last I checked), it's more roomy than the Rio. The space inside the car and in the trunk is bigger.

Why not add a little more and get the Kia Rio Hatchback?
Mas maraming toys and looks better.

I agree...the Rio5 hatchback has more feature than the rest...considering the 17" tires...I've been a fan of Kia lately since I have a sportage 09 model. Durability is not a question with a combination of 5 year warranty in parts.

Wag masyadong padala sa Pinoy Mentality regarding Resale value once you decide to sell your car or the availability ng parts that can buy anywhere...

Puro features at porma lang naman yung Rio hatch. But I guess there's actually a market segment for it, may mga bumibili eh.

Once you start including the Rio hatch in the comparison, you should also include the ff. cars:

    - Ford Fiesta Sport
    - Hyundai Accent 1.6 GLS Blue
    - Mazda 2 1.5 R
    - Honda Jazz 1.5 V
    - Honda City 1.5 E
    - Toyota Yaris 1.5 G
    - Toyota Vios 1.5 G
    - Suzuki Swift VVT

All of them have better engines (either more powerful, more efficient, or both) than the Rio hatch.

I have read in the other thread here in tsikot that the new variant 1.6 Lancer is just 750k for the MT, 800k for the AT after discounts as part of mitsu's introductory offer. Now, thats a super great deal in my opinion.
