We have a catering-canteen business since 1990 and the vehicles we have are 3 L-300 HSPUR (1994-1998 models) and 1 Kia 2001 KC2700 HSPUR. All are first owned and I'm sharing my experiences with these vehicles. The Kia kc2700 (now it k2700 2016) is the best choice between ALL brands (Hyundai H100 (Sister Company of Kia), L300), of course, the Isuzu NHR/NKR is excluded here because its so much bigger than the rest and it would be the first placer. Why KC2700? Its so low maintenance and the body does not rust easily. Its engine uses timing gear instead of belts, suspension has less joints and bushings to replace. While the L300 has a softer ride because it has a much more complex suspension system, the KC2700 is not at all that harsh or jarring ride. The worst riding vehicle I rode is the Isuzu d-max. Even if our KC2700 is 15years old, it hasn't been overhauled yet and always passes the smoke emission test. Our L300's were overhauled twice already and been flagged down every time it is spotted by smoke belching crews. L300's are notorious for problems with electrical, suspension, rust, window riser mechanisms and engine. I also have to add that when a battery is located near the engine, the battery fluids easily dry up or heats the battery which in turn lessens the battery life...the L300 has its battery just beside the engine. Bummer!
