Look at hundreds thousand views of local car youtube videos. With all due respect sir, have you talked to younger car buyers lately?

A lot of people do research for the cars that theyre buying, but sometimes they can be blinded by a good deal, such it is with the Chinese Cars.
I was surprised why there were so many MG ZS on the road now until I checked the price, it starts at 818K. Same price as an Avanza and 600k cheaper than a Corolla Cross. Even if the company has no local reputation, people will still gamble on the good deal it offers. Of course people here would rather buy a Toyota or Honda, even a Ford rather than a Chinese car.
What Ford does is pack in more features than their rivals at a similar price. Mazda is in the same boat actually.
Ford has such a hit or miss reputation in this country. Still leagues ahead of Chevrolet's mostly miss reputation.

December 10th, 2022 07:01 PM #94Hmmm, the Ranger Raptor has tranny issues. It uses the same 10 speed automatic transmission that the current generation Explorer also uses. Parang mahirap yata to recommend the Explorer unless you are a die hard Ford fan.
Heck, I don't even recommend Ford now. Naka 2 strikes na sila sa amin ng family ko.
Even the Territory which is Ford PH's best seller now has its own set of issues, mostly electrical related, with some tranny issues as well.
I'll not recommend getting the Prado now since lalabas na yung all new model next year.
Sa requirements ni Gumusut_Amige, parang hirap magbigay ng recommendation if budget niya is max 3M, unless you're willing to increase your budget to 3.8M and get the all new Hyundai Palisade (Hyundai Philippines is already selling it but quietly lang).

December 10th, 2022 09:30 PM #98a local car industry figure was asked, in his opinion, what makes the filipino car buyer a unique animal. he mentioned the ff:
1. budget (but not exclusive to filipinos).
2. deciding without benefit of test drive.
3. word of mouth influence (again, not unique to filipinos).
4. too trusting of what we read.
in another local online, it was listed the top three factors among filipino buyers of new cars:
1. reputation for quality (the brand!).
2. stylish appearance.
3. previous ownership experience (again, the brand!).
