Glad the tucson is fitted with the u2 engine too same as the accent crdi but with higher displacement. I thought the tucson was fitted with the R eVGT engine.

I stand corrected you are right. The R variant comes with an electronic variable geometry turbo.
The U series of diesel engines as in the Accent are equally good.

Well, how about its twin? The Kia Sportage CRDi. Or maybe the 5-seater FWD version of the Sorento with its 2.2L CRDi engine (same as the Santa Fe's engine)? The Forester XT and Escape 2.0L Ecoboost are both rated at 240hp and, has acceptable FC for its engine size and power.

Kia Sportage also have the same engines made by its sister company Hyundai.
Of course the Santa Fe and its cousin Sorento are also frugal but only within its upper category.

I read the threads of other gasoline fed CUV's, most of the FC's (if not all) come near the within diesel territory.
