Share ko lang.I have just raced with my cousin’s 4x4 V fort last 3 days ago. We’ve planned it for a month I think kung where and when will it happen. kasi me and my cousin are always comparing our ride since we bought our monty last year..sana nag fort na lang daw kami..and there naisipan namin to test our rides. Parang mga bata no.
First I thought he was just joking but then he called me last week. May venue na daw ng race namin.. Basta one of the provincial road here in Panay. It happened at around 3 in the morning para walang ibang sasakyan.. there, nagstart na kami .I was on the left side of the road so meaning nasa wrong side ako..after his 3rd beep arangkada na kami. From standstill I could say the fortuner is a bit quicker maybe because of its 65 kg weight lighter than monty. From 0-170kmh lamang siya sa akin almost half of his fort’s body, but not totally naiwan nya ako..at 180 kmh, nakalevel na ako sa kanya and then I’ve reached 190 kmh going to 195 dun na ako lumamang sa kanya maybe 5-7 meters edge ko..imagine, 195 kmh on provincial road..sa tingin ko lang ha,may ibubuga pa..hehehe..Good thing there were no other vehicles that time..Sarap ng feeling, sarap kasing hatawin...
.After that He told me that he only reached 185 kmh and speed limited daw at lamang naman siya sa arangkada and with so many alibis.hehehe..wala namang pustahan..He was really frustrated that time, I could see it on his face..hehehe..He asked me if we could race again and he’ll be using daw his secret weapon which is his navara. Ofcourse I refused..the outcome of the result is obvious naman diba...Both fort and monty are fast naman eh..based on my experience I could say that fortuner is a bit quicker but monty has a higher top speed. Maybe next time offroading naman..our house is just near the river lang..wawa naman ng SUVs namin…hehehe
hmm...what about 0-100kph or 0-60mph which is the globaly standard system of determining car acceleration 170-190kph is way beyond our speed limit. In daily driving we don't need that much speed regardless of we're in a city, metropolis, towns or provincial roads is all about 0-100-120kph this is where the fort advantage over ms...to me spirited driving is more emphasis in a provincial road (single lane)the feeling of thrilling in overtaking a vehicle running over 80kph is breathtaking that it must be done in a quiker way possible...this is where the fort win over ms...peace!Last edited by saipeme; August 27th, 2009 at 10:29 PM.

Guys,
For those who want to race their SUVs and pick-ups, I know you can't help it but be amazed by the current diesel engines' power. But, please be reminded that it's very unsafe to go beyond 180kph especially on S rated tires which has a speed rating of only up to 180kph. Therefore, the speed limiter is there for a reason. For 17 inch rim/tire combination, the rating may be T which is 190kph.
If you want to go beyond 200kph, change your rim/tire combination to 18 inches or higher so your tire ratings can be H or V. However, with those heavier tires, it would be really difficult to reach those speeds.

yes sir this is true.. fort has a quick acceleration compare to MS, one major factor is their weights.. MS is heavier than fort by 105 kgms not 65.. that’s a lot of weight equivalent to almost 2 passengers inside the MS compare to the fort,none.. BUT I think IF both SUVs are running at 80 then pedal on the floor, I think both can deliver almost an equal speed because MS can already carry it’s weight with that certain speed(kumbaga nakabuwelo na)..based on my experience with my cousin’s fort. just from 0 to 100 or starting from 10 KPH where the fort has an advantage because it’s lighter than MS while MS has to struggle first with it’s heavier weights but if nakabuwelo na it can deliver almost an equal speed with fort if once again running at 60 or 80 kph then pedal on the floor..but you can’t go wrong with these two..
sir glnTVR, ano na ang nabili ng dad mo? Both SUVs are ok naman..
sir softop, nakuha mo na fort mo?

Yup the fortuner's acceleration is quicker but when you chance upon a fortuner or Montero at any highway or expressway and want to try each other you guys wont be running below 60kph, in that case pareho na kayo naka bwelo which would be more on the advantage of the MS unless you guys would start on a full stop where the advantage would be on the side of the fortuner.. But i dont need to try it again coz we also have tried both SUV's at SCTEX wherein in the montero won because of its top speed.. Drive Safely

never ending na fort vs. MS. dapat magsponsor tsikot ng fort vs MS comparo
0-60 times, drag, off road, top speed tapos ipagkabit sa likod yun fort and MS tapos maghatakan sila sa parking lot, sa gravel, sa basang kalye
lahat ng variant isama na

It's about 1 cm longer than the 3SM and about 4 cm longer than the DIN74. And it's also in the 10k...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
