June 20th, 2013 08:49 PM #2Stay away from the 2.0L Escape, especially if its A/T. We have 1st hand experience on this. Underpowered and very, very thirsty.
This can be differentiated from the newer 2.3L ones with its black plastic bumpers, a different steering wheel and gearshift.
The 2.3L is nice. Its not exceptionally fast but is no slouch. Gives good gas mileage too for its engine size.

Hahaha... yup. That's the long and short of it. 2.0 bad. 2.3 good. Very good.

June 21st, 2013 02:50 PM #6Depends on your driving and route bro. Our Tribute 2.3 does around 7km/L, while our Escape 2.3 in Taiwan did around 9km/L (in Kaohsiung province).

City driving (w/ a light foot) can hit up to 7km/L+ but a heavy foot will give you 5.5-6km/l
Highway: 10-12km/L

Could also be due to the high demand that the manufacturer prioritized new car deliveries vs. spare...
