That's the VQ40 V6 engine not sold in Manila but it is used for the new Frontier sold in the US. As I've posted in another thread it's unfair to compare a gas V6 engine to the 4 cylinder diesel engine of the other manufacturers. Besides having a liter displacement advantage, it also has 2 more cylinders. The 18mpg mixed driving is very optimistic, I used my truck with a VQ40 on a drive from San Francisco to LA and could only get 17-18mpg for a straight highway driving and I had to draft behind a Nissan Armada to get it to 18mpg.

I did see the new Strada on my recent trip to Manila and it looks awsome, I would definitely get that truck over the Dmax, Hi-lux, and old Frontier. All trucks I did see looked smaller than the current Toyota Tacoma and Frontier sold in the US. I thought the Dmax was based on the Chevy Colorada/GMC Canyon but it looked smaller than the ones sold in the US.
