August 7th, 2007 10:16 PM #1Guys,
Newbie here. Help naman. I'm seriously considering buying a 2nd hand Ford Escape. 2003 Model, 2.0L Manual Tranny, 50T KMs * PHP500K. Is this a good buy? Any pros and cons. Any input will be much appreciated.
Thanks

At that price, tawad pa yan... you can get an 04 a/t model for 500K already. Since it's m/t, the power deficit isnt that noticed as compared to the 2.0 a/t but expect fuel consumption to be in the 6-7km/L range. Our '04 2.0 a/t did around 5.5-7km/l in the city. Aside from the fuel consumption, was happy with it... like the space and comfort with good handling for a mini-SUV.

actually, it's usually 5km/L. sobrang lakas sa gas accdg to a friend who owns one. Parang CRV.

August 8th, 2007 06:13 PM #5we have a 2005 escape A/T, sobra lakas sa gas (5-6km/l), underpowered para sa akin. plus it has a low resale value. get a Toyota or honda na lang instead.

August 11th, 2007 09:35 AM #6Thanks for the replies. Na test-drive ko na yung escape, ok pa naman condition. According to the owner, he's getting something like 8Km/Liter. Haven't driven a CRV or a RAV4, so hindi ko alam comparison. My first time to drive a CUV/SUV.
Now, I'm looking at this other alternatives:
2001 CRV * 500K
2002 Crosswind XUV *550K
Which would you guys recommend? I'm keen on getting the escape na.

If you are after the low fuel consumption, might as well get the crosswind since its a diesel and have a bigger capacity, passenger and baggage. Baka pwede ka pang tumawad dyan since medyo mataas pa yan.

August 11th, 2007 10:06 AM #8My bro in law has one, lakas daw sa gas , lagi sira aircon, underpowered. I think you're better off with a CRV.
