No need to bring the originals. Photocopies will do. Everytime I was asked to show my OR/CR, the apprehending officers never asked for the originals.

here's the LTO ruling over that:
13. Failure to carry in the Motor Vehicle the Certificate of Registration (CR) and Official Receipt (OR) (Original or Photocopies)

I keep photocopies of the OR/CR and auto insurance policy on the driver's side door pocket.
Never keep the original documents in the car; in the unfortunate event that you lose your car to thieves, sorry na lang.

My original CR is with the bank. The original OR is with me. I keep 3 photocopies of both in the car.
Don't forget to sign the CR on the space provided. I think there's a fine for unsigned CR - just heard about.
