Sir my recommendations would be ...
1. Toyota Corolla GLi 1.6L
2. Honda City SX8 1.5L
Why opt for the carburetor types when you can get an EFi vehicle within your budget ?

April 21st, 2010 01:25 PM #6I'm currently using a 2nd hand car EFI, always having a problem with its electronics / sensors. Unlike my lancer boxtype before which is all mechanical, easy to trouble-shoot easy to repair.
what i like with my current ride is, its handling (power steering), soft clutch pedal (hydraulic). but the engine is no longer economical....

xylene alfon : I think you'll be better off with EFi vehicles. Remember, carburetor powered vehicles isn't compatible with E-10. And, almost all fuels nowadays are blended with ethanol.
Well ... some carb vehicles really survives the ethanol blended fuels, like me. But I think it's better for you to be sure UNLESS you're planning on swapping the engine anytime soon.
Anyways, if you're really like carb vehicles then the bigbody XL/XE will be your best bet. It's tried and tested.
Next would be the Honda City SX8.
