January 31st, 2015 10:54 AM #1Hi everyone. Asking for your help. We're planning to buy 2nd hand Compact Crossover SUV. Automatic. Budget is 600k-700k.
Which model would do you suggest? What are pros and cons in terms of fuel efficiency, reliability, maintenance, known issues, etc.?
2010 Honda CR-V (3rd Gen) 4x2 2.0L Gas, 5-speed AT
2010 Toyota RAV4 (3rd Gen) 4x2 2.5L Gas, 4-speed AT
2010 Hyundai Tucson (2nd Gen) 4x2 2.0L Gas, 6-speed AT
2011 Kia Sportage (3rd Gen) 4x2 2.0L Gas, 6-speed AT
2011 Mitsubishi ASX GLS 4x2 2.0L Gas, 6-speed CVT
2012 Nissan X-Trail (2nd Gen) 4x4 2.5L Gas, 6-speed CVT
Your inputs are very much appreciated.

February 4th, 2015 09:31 AM #4CR-V for its space and size, it's one of the roomiest in its class. Plus the economy is pretty good.
Rav4 is pretty good too, but I'm not entirely sure on the fuel consumption and it looks quite boring.
Tucson/Sportage twins are pretty cramped in my opinion so unless you really like the looks, I wouldn't put this on top of the list.
X-trail is nice and boxy, but looks are hit or miss for some. The CVT is good from what I hear. Parts might be scarce since only a few were sold so I wouldn't really recommend.
The Fortuner 2.7 is within your price range so might want to look into that as well, fuel consumption isn't far from these CUVs, plus you get additional ground clearance, 7 seats and reliability.

February 5th, 2015 12:56 AM #7I'd suggest the Gen 2 (2006-2009) Santa Fe CRDi. It's roomier than any of your choices, seats 7, is fast, thrifty and comfortable, and has proven to be quite reliable.

Subaru Forester 2.0 but the 2.5 turbo is so awesome, though it's just simply beyond your budget.
Among your choices, the X-Trail is my choice (too bad that there's no diesel variant here).
Is it just me or have traffic worsened this week compared to pre-Holy Week? Is it because people...
