September 2nd, 2020 03:16 AM #25Does it share kaya the same DCT with the 2018 Audi Q5? Cos I hated that when we rented that car for a week.
Edit: It was a 2.0TDI. Just checked. It felt jerky to me then. And I know a jerky DCT cos we had a fiesta for 6 years. [emoji23] I eventually learned to “modulate” our fiesta tho after a few months of ownership. The Q5 I drove for 1714kms. I guess not enough time to get a hang of it.

DCT is a bit jerky if you drive it like a normal AT car. Drive it like a bit of an MT and it will behave like it should.
I am not sure but maybe VW and Audi have different tunes on their DSG with their popular models.

Paul says the new tsi engines are reliable. His last video was on a 144,000miler with carbon buildup.

September 3rd, 2020 01:27 PM #30never had a problem with a VW DSG being jerky. i do remember the Ford Diesel Hatchback a/t with the ford DCT that i was planning to get but when i test drove it, the transmission was Jerky and couldn't seem to find the right gear for a smooth acceleration.
There are already a few specialist in VW/Audi cars in metro manila. Most basic parts are easy to source.
Could also be due to the high demand that the manufacturer prioritized new car deliveries vs. spare...
