Kamusta DCT ng VW? I was thinking since these are fleet cars and most like driven by different drivers with different driving styles and without any care in the world e baka may tama na ang transmission...

I had a quick look into the complaints. Zero..

vw is selling millions. Im sure they have the resources to address their popularized dct issues. Can our traffic kill the dct? I doubt this.

Lawsuits are expensive. Theyd rather fix the dct than pay "karen"

VW DSG is smoother to drive than the dry-type DCT of Ford. I have driven both turbo diesel and turbo gas VWs with its DSG tranny. The turbo gas felt better as you can floor better the accelerator to higher rpms when downshifting.

Does it share kaya the same DCT with the 2018 Audi Q5? Cos I hated that when we rented that car for a week.

Edit: It was a 2.0TDI. Just checked. It felt jerky to me then. And I know a jerky DCT cos we had a fiesta for 6 years. [emoji23] I eventually learned to “modulate” our fiesta tho after a few months of ownership. The Q5 I drove for 1714kms. I guess not enough time to get a hang of it.

DCT is a bit jerky if you drive it like a normal AT car. Drive it like a bit of an MT and it will behave like it should.

I am not sure but maybe VW and Audi have different tunes on their DSG with their popular models.

Kung fluids and filters lang, Lazada or Shopee mayrun. I am talking only for cars which share the MQB platform, the one used for the more affordable VW and Audi cars - Jetta, Golf, Passat, A3, etc.

never had a problem with a VW DSG being jerky. i do remember the Ford Diesel Hatchback a/t with the ford DCT that i was planning to get but when i test drove it, the transmission was Jerky and couldn't seem to find the right gear for a smooth acceleration.

There are already a few specialist in VW/Audi cars in metro manila. Most basic parts are easy to source.
