guys,
my bro is interested in buying a
previously-owned 1997 1.9L bmw z3.
mileage is 20K and the price is 1M.
is this a sensible buy?
how much is the average annual cost
for the maintenance and upkeep for
this kind of car? are parts easy to obtain?
i told him mukhang ok naman kaya lang
my concern is the availability and price
of parts. sabi ko mas ok pang maghanap
na lang siya ng second-hand na evo or
subaru wrx for the same price range.
suggestions? advise?
thanks!

October 22nd, 2007 02:11 PM #3Medyo mahal yata.
Direct ba sa owner o sa buy and sell? (The mileage is suspiciously low for for a '97 model)
Most Z3's cost around 700-800K lang pag direct sa owner.

Mahal po for 1M because it is only a two seater. There are also lots of these coming out sa surplus shops, some even have the 1996 BMW Japan 15th Anniversary Edition with original James Bond color lightning blue, for nearly half that price.
This is just me but I've never found the Z3 to be a practical car because I can't really do much with it. You can't really play with it like performance tweaking like an Evo or Impreza. If I got 1M to blow on a 2nd/weekend car I'd go with an AWD rocket.
More bang for buck as they say

Mag 1-series na lang kuya mo na certified pre-owned. O kaya brand new na focus 2.0

Don't think about other brands anymore, just go with Amaron. It lasts minimum 5 yrs+ parati, I just...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
