Does wax come OFF when you get a car wash?

Some people talk about wax lasting on your car for months.. Is that true? Doesn't it come off when you wash your car the week after you put it on? How is it able to stay on the car if it's being shampooed and rubbed heavily?

Lastly, I read that when you wax your car water should just slide off. Something like this video:

    TIA

Wax is not something that bonds well with painted surface. Repeated car washes will eventually rub off the coating of wax.

In some parts of the US, they literally wash their cars no more than once or twice a month. That is because they have a more consistent weather, especially during the summer. That's why they can claim that waxes can last for months on end. But here, with our terrible weather (summer in the morning and wet season in the afternoon), waxes typically don't last more than a month for a daily-driven car... especially when you wash your car almost everyday.

Paint sealants lasts a bit longer than straight wax, though. But they're not quite as shiny as wax (ie. Carnauba).

Ok, so which one of you should I listen to?

says it comes off after repeated car washes. Is this with shampoo? Does it even matter?
speed unlimited says it comes off if shampoo is used.

Shouldn't we always wash our cars with shampoo?

Shampoo or not, the mere act of wiping it with foam or wash mitts and drying it off with MF colth, etc. will remove traces of wax every time it is done. Compound that with using the wrong soap/shampoo, and waxes wear off faster.

In the Philippines, it's not uncommon for some OC guys to wax their cars once or twice a week. I personally go for waxing once a month and QD every several days.

I had my Mazda 6 waxed 2 days ago, by one of the detailers here in Riyadh. Talagang parang brand new hitsura ng car ko. Kaso, advise nila, don't wash the car for 2 weeks. "Curing time" daw sa wax at glaze na nilagay nila.

Tama ba ito? Considering na ilang araw mo lang di i-car wash ang tsikot mo dito sa Saudi, puno na ng alikabok yan.
