April 20th, 2013 04:45 AM #1Mga kapatid, patulong naman sa problema ko. I have a honda 2001 Gen1 CRV (Gas, Automatic) na nag overheat lately. Ito ang storya:
Day 1
Medyo competent naman from past issues at inde namemera
Binaklas radiator medyo nilinis onte
- Ikinabit, nilagyan fluid, pinatakbo umaandar. Maya maya nag overheat pa rin pag uwi umabot 3/4 g gauge
Day2
- Inde gumagana thermo switch, pag naka on lang aircon tsaka iikot yun fan
- I dont see oil sa radiator water or water sa oil
- Bago water pump. So far wala ako makitang tagas.
- Bago yung thermo-switch
- Gumagana both fans (automatic on at pag switch AC).
Malamig naman AC pag naka on :|
Salamat po in advance. Thanks ulit at Godbless.

April 20th, 2013 09:06 AM #5Salamat po for your inputs!
Sir Jick: Sige po sir will try to get an OEM thermostat. Curious nga ako dun kasi paano tumakbo ng ganun katagal yun ng walang thermostat? May overheadting issues ako dati pero dahil sa busted rad/hose. About the bleed, are you referring to Air bleeding? Actually inde ko alam kung paano. Tried researching about it and didnt go far. Nabasa ko na teh engine bleeds itself and burps air to the reserve tank. Baka may pwede pa ako gawin to purge the air?
Yes direction is towards the engine
Sir Otep: So nag overheat yun oto nyo dati sir due to a busted compressor?

Off muna engine at try mo ikutin yun blade ng Radiator Fan.
For peace of mind sa traffic.

Yes, malamig naman aircon ko nun. Pero nung tinanggal yung belt and try pihitin compressor, parang stuck up siya.

am not sure which engine you have, but you can bleed the air out through the highest point where coolant passes and bleed the heater core by leaving the valve open (max heat) while the engine is running to completely fill the heater. let the engine cool down and check/top off the radiator and the reservoir

Overhauling your radiator is just asking for trouble. You will do more damage and put operational reliability at risk by having someone open your radiator, poke into its tubes, then reseal the tanks with contaminated solder (or epoxy) without the necessary post-treatment to clean the weld joints let alone the proper equipment to test for leaks.
If your radiator is clogged then you have several things you need to take care of. First is you have heavy sedimentation in your coolant/water mixture. Depending on your location, the water may have a high level of dissolved solids. So you need better water sources.
Also a possibility, the water in your coolant has already evaporated leaving coolant residue that will clump together in your cooling system. You will need to flush your engine thoroughly and filter sediments.
Using bottled is extreme, but its a good placebo for most people who do not understand the chemistry or possess the commonsense to know that once that water touches the metal and the residues in your loop, it becomes no better than clean tap water.
Second, keep your thermostat on.
Third, I would check your fans' flow rates and your radiator/condenser fins if they are obstructed with debris.
Most waterpumps are mechanical. Only when they start leaking or stop spinning (bearings), or the vanes of the impeller heavily corroded will they need replacement.
Once you have cleared issues on both the water and air side of the radiator, your trouble shooting can focus elsewhere.
It is important to do things properly the first time with a competent service provider.

April 25th, 2013 04:42 AM #10Thanks everyone for your help!
Had the radiator de-scaled(or discaled hehe). Maluwag yun fan connector after ikabit ulit yun rad. So when we tested the AC fan was running fine but came loose somehow kaya umiinit. Okay na po sya sa ngayun.
Thanks again!
