November 19th, 2012 04:01 PM #1Question po. My aircon heater hose cracked recently and spilled coolant all over the engine. I was kinda thinking, will my aircon thermostat still work if i just put a bypass hose and not run the coolant to the heater core. No one uses the heating function of the climate control here anyway. My car is a civic EK with an aftermarket 3row radiator. tnx guys...

did it to my vitara and my sister's CRV, mas malamig aircon,
some say kasi kahit hindi mo gamit, the heater core is still hot and radiates the heat to the cooling side of the aircon duct.

on the contrary, if your ac is atc you're using the heater without knowing it. paano? dito mo nacocontrol ang desired cabin temperature setting mo. kinokontrol and blend air mo para ma achieve ang desired temperature mo.

another disadvantage pag bypass ng heater core is in case of overheat and you cannot stop immediately..pwede makatulong yung heater core and blower para wag masyado tumaas temp.
