    benny,

hi, i live here in los angeles county, city of torrance, and please dont say that LA is the ugliest place, i was born and grew up here....i would say its way better that manila if not philippines...please pardon me for these..that is indefense for you benny so you wont be so afraid stepping out from lax international airport....if ever you will have the chance to visit LA let me and i am more than willing to show you around. i'll show you the best part of LA and the worst place. there's alot of theme part here, as they mentioned, we have the disney land and california adventure part, six flags magic mountain for rides and roller coasters, knotts berry farm, raging waters, universal studios in hollywood, all the beaches you can imagine, sea world in san diego, catalina island, malls, restaurants, and maybe we will go to azusa river bed to go off roading. if you want to go to bay area there's a lot of places too, vegas..the sin city, where people never sleep..if you love gambling..and many more....let me know ahead of time email me or call me on my cell at 310-351-3486 or page at 310-681-9255...:D

    peace out

    correct ka dyan Cale!

as in any city, there are bad places and there are good places. same with LA.

that was why when I arrived there in LA 7 years ago my uncle gave me a map. he colored almost 60% of the city of Los Angeles in red. he said if I go there I'm dead so told me in no uncertain terms to stay away from those places.

so I went to San Diego! nyahahahaha! less than 10% lang ng San Diego ang colored red sa map nya e hehehehe!

    yebo8,

maybe your uncle was saying or telling you about is the CITY of los angeles....i might agree in some ways, but if your uncle is talking about the COUNTY of los angeles, i dont think so, i know LA since childhood, did you go around the COUNTY already...or you only toured the CITY of LA, there's a big difference here, city is just like a town and county is just live a province or region. i'm sorry about your experience with denny's at oklahoma city, yeah some places are still on the process of accepting the diverse population of US which sometimes its very difficult in there part...so i really apologize in behalf of those people who mistreated you....can i can if you live here in US or in the Philippines..seems you live here though....its only natural for me to say something in favor to the place where i live and grew.......trust me you wont be dead here..you will survive...as long as you wont, stare at them, make bad comments about them or act indifferently againts them you will be fine, i have some former classmates who live in a getto and who are gang bang members, they're african american and latinos mostly. and yeah sometimes they are roudy.....i guess i've said a lot...

    peace out

    Cale,

yun nga, City of Los Angeles!

I don't live there anymore bro, I went back to the good ol Philippines, Republic of in July 1998. I get much better pay here in my job than the jobs that were offered to me over there so what the heck, 3 years is enough.

I'll be in the US this April. Destinations would be LA, Las Vegas with Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, San Diego (zoo and USS Midway, sea world if may time pa), Legoland.

I'll be driving to these destinations. Suggestions naman dyan on what to do or what to expect for the road trip from LA to Vegas and Vegas to San Diego.

Ano ba ok gawin sa Vegas? 4-5days ako sa Vegas.
    3 days sa San Diego.
    The rest, nasa LA ako.

i wonder why no one recommended the california academy of science in SF

if you are in SF, get their 9 day city pass. you get free rides on the trolley and muni. plus you get free admission to 4 places of interest including the SFMOMA and CAS

alcatraz is a must see but you may have to book way ahead of time. try booking on the internet

the grand canyon can be a one day event depending on whether you go to the west rim or south rim. the skywalk is in the west rim but the south is more interesting, but way farther.

places of interest in vegas, well just watch out for the daily street shows of the hotels (bellagio, treasure island, etc). mostly, its a walking tour of the gambling places.

try to see one cirque de soleil show. zumanity, if still running, is ... hehehehe
