hero talaga si papa glenn! :D so how the trip over all?
Ayos tong thread na to..laking tulong..pupunta din kami dun..hehe
Pwede ba mag-RORO galing ng Batangas pier papuntang Puerto Galera-Mindoro?
Pupunta kami sa galera this weekend.
San ba talaga maganda
Gusto sana namin, may air-con, cable tv, nice sand(yung sa white beach is good enough for us) and nice beach for swimming.
www.cocobeach.com, try niyo po mag book doon.. medyo pricey but i think maganda
ahh ok so white beach and big lalaguna pala ang maganda mag swimming lang... kasi hindi naman ako nag snorkel eh puro swimming lang at tambay... salamat sir karlo.
PICK YOUR OWN DESTINATION:
1. Fine and white sands; dive shops & fine dining: Big Lalaguna( 2 star to 4 star accomodations)
2. Wide shore & beach front: White beach(note: Sand is fine but not as white as Big Lalaguna's). Most economical & practical destination in Puerto Galera.
3. Hangout, Gimick, Pickup points, Dive shops, Bars & fine restos: Sabang & Small Lalaguna
4. Snorkeling with 1st class amenities beach resorts: Small Lalaguna (Portofino, Club Mabuhay, El Galleon)
5. Snorkeling destinations: Long Beach, Bukete beach, Halige beach, Coral Garden, Parola(light house). It's a must to rent a banca, Aqua shoes, snorkel & mask.
PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION:
Go with Big Lalaguna or Small Lalaguna. Try Club Mabuhay, El Galleon, Portofino or La Laguna Beach club.
Thanks for the replies.
Ser mikaztro, I called Club Mabuhay, fully booked na daw sila this weekend and sabi din sa kin the sand in their beach is not as fine as the one in White Beach. The lady also told me that Small and Big Lalaguna is for diving and snorkeling while white beach still has the best sand. Is that true?
Kitakits! Big La Laguna naman ako this Saturday. Excited na ko!Originally Posted by BlackPrince

Her statement is not exactly correct. Club Mabuhay is situated in Small Lalaguna wherein the sands there is not as white as the Big Lalaguna coves and not as wide, long and fine as the White beach. Big Lalaguna sand is whiter than that of White Beach though mas fine ang sand sa White beach and mas mahaba at mas malawak ang beach front. White beach sand is similar to Iba Zambales beach sand or Nasugbu sand while Big Lalaguna sand(fine crushed coral type) is similar to Hundred islands sand and a mixture of Eastern Boracay sand. Beach front in Big Lalaguna is quite small compared to White beach but they have wonderful snorkeling spots 20 meters away from the beach front.
If you don't have accomodations in Big Lalaguna, try to get a reservation in Small Lalaguna. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk from Big to Small. Both coves are interconnected and seperated by only a rocky hill formation. Sand in Small lalaguna though is not as nice as the Big Lalaguna's or the White beach.
BTW, rent a boat and go to the pearl farm near the light house coral garden. You can see the endangered clams planted by UP students. Corals there are growing fast as the DOT is now very strict unlike before.
Hope you enjoy ur vacation!

Well, you can just take a tricycle from Muelle to Sabang and walk to Small Lalaguna. Yes, it is P800/4 pax so that is around P200 per trip to Small Lalaguna 2 way. You can make a deal with the boat men to escort you to and from Small Lalaguna and also some day trips around the Island. I'm sure you can make a good deal out of it. By the way, don't worry about the boatmen overcharging as the DOT there is strict. They have a set of standard fees to follow with. Don't forget also to buy your ticket back home for the fast craft once you've arrived in Muelle as they're selling hotcakes. You can ask the personal boatman purchase your ticket for you.
We've decided to stay in White Beach, definitely lots of people!!!

We also went to Big Lalaguna to take a look at the place, Club Mabuhay resort is really nice but I still prefer the beach in White beach(why? well, see the previous posts from the tsikoteers)
Okay, let me share why I still prefer white beach:
Bigger beach (so bigger swimming area) and less pebbles in the sand compared to Big Lalaguna. If you want serenity though, Big Lalaguna is still the place to go.
I'm back from my P Galera trip. Sarap at mura pa! Nag-enjoy kami ng lab ko!Originally Posted by mikaztro

Anyway, as of my last trip, ito roughly ginastos namin (April 2-4, 2005):
143 per person na bus fare from Cubao to Batangas Pier
200 (4 na kami sa 200 - one way) boat ride from Muelle to Big La Laguna
1500 per night (good for two) na superp room sa Big La Laguna (beach front, pag labas mo ng door beach na kaagad, da best ito talaga!)
1500 na boat for the entire day (morning to 5pm lang... iba na rate sa gabi)
Pwede kayo mag baon like we did.
mukang ok nga dyan ah... hehe i havent been to a beach since college hehe...
how much yung room sa whitebeach? aircon ba? pls post.tyOriginally Posted by glenn
