Add ko lang:
Kailangan may laman ang passport mo. I mean you should have a history that you travelled to different countries. Thereby, it will give them a bit of assurance that you are coming back to your home country.
Plus, you need to have a bank account with sufficient balance.
Furthermore, are you employed? If not ano source of income mo? May business ka ba or what?
At kung ano ano pa.
Parents ko got a US Visa ako denied. Never na ako ng apply uli. Sa iba nalang ako pupunta.
my mother in law just applied today and what a sigh of relief, she got one!
she prepared all the necessary papers which were coached and asked for by a travel agency. we gave her pictures, our contact addresses, phones etc. and even employment info.
she was only asked a few things like:
1. How old are your children, eldest, youngest etc. and what do they do?
2. Whats your purpose for visiting the U.S. [she said "visit my two grandchildren"].
3. What kind of business do you have?
4. Do you have a car? what kind?
5. How many months do you think you will stay in the U.S.? The agency told her not to give 6 months as an answer since the consul might get the impression that you will overstay.
AFAIK, the consuls are psych grads. which I saw was a requirement when hiring. And yes, the korean lady is still there....

5. Sabihin mo kung gano ka katagal kasi yung bunso ko in apply namin ang binigay lang single entry last november.
My in-law was interviewed yesterday.... She visited the US a decade ago.... The only question that was asked was "What is the purpose of your visit this time?"..... Visa was granted.... She will be traveling with us in a few months...

My mom got married to an american guy who is a US citizen. My step-dad (my petitioner) petitioned my mom and my younger brother who are now a Lawful Permanent Residence of US. I didn't come with them because I want to finish my school here in the Philippines. I was only 17 when both of them were petitioned by my step dad. I stayed with my grandparents here in the Phil. Fortunately I graduated and got a job. I enjoyed working for almost 4 years. In the year 2008 I realized that I wanna be with my family. My step dad filed a petition for me (I-130). I made a research about petitioning child over 21 years old and I found out that here in the Philippines it would take 5-10 years to get a visa available. I told my step dad about what I've found out. He told me that I am still included with my sisters and mom's petition therefor According to him I don't belong with F1 Visa. Here are my questions I hope some could help me understand things:
1. Some says that the petition must be filed before I turned 21. Is that right? However my step dad just filed the I-130 petition just 2008 and it was approved by USCIS just this year (May 10, 2011).
2. I heard about CSPA, is there an exception with my case? My stepdad send a letter to USCIS explaining the reason why they didn't filed the petition when I'm under 21 years old. (Before my petitioned got approved, USCIS asked for supporting documents (RFE) like the death certificate of my dad and certificate of non marriage.)
3. Am I eligible for K2 visa then?
4. USCIS sent the approval notice to my stepdad saying that they will send the approved petition to the NVC and gave us 90 days to wait for visa processing. It also stated that I will be receiving a paper as well coming from the consulate here in the Phil. If I may ask, All of the notice of approval sent to the petitioner has the same content just like what my step dad received?
Thanks for taking time reading my concern. I know that your reply will help me understand things.
^^^ Sana sumama ka na lang sa kanila the first time at bumalik ka na lang dito later para tapusin ang iyong pag-aaral. Wala sanang komplikasyon, katulad ngayon.

to hopefulguy,
When did your stepdad file the I-130 petition, before or after 21 years old ka na?
If over 21, you are no longer eligible for CSPA.
You are also not eligible for K2 visa, since for minor child lang to(under 21) and ini issue lang to kapag yung mother mo ay K1 visa ang gamit ng nag migrate sya sa US. From your post, looks like IR1 ang visa ng mother mo ng nag enter sya as immigrant.
Mas mabilis ang petition ng green card kesa US citizen kapag over 21 ka na. Di totoo na 5-10 years lang ang aabutin. 15-20 years ang waiting time.

guys, i appreciate all your inputs and suggestions. thanks
well just an fyi guys...9am sila schedule pero 1pm na sila nainterview! So kumain muna bago pumasoc
Lately mahigpit sila sa Older people & as always mas mahigpit sa mga Dalaga and binata.
You should convince them na you're coming back. It's either thru properties, cars, stable business or job. It is also advisable to give them your destination address w/c could be your relatives or friends residence add.
You should at least have 1M on your account and at least one Property or a CAR w/c is under your name. (you could bring your parent's ORIG Land Title, they dont read it naman e)
As for the interview paulit ulit lang ang question to know if you are really telling the truth. AND it will always depend sa INTERVIEWER, you can never choose who will ineterview you.
U should also establish that you will fund your trip and you have the means to spend there in the US. (Biz Yan, kya dapat gagastos ka talaga.)
The FF are in danger of failing to acquire VISA:
- Unmarried individuals
- Old Age
- No property or enough fund
- Applying Alone.
Kahit may ari ka ng BANK and owns several establishments, once na you're in the ZONE of getting married type like 21-30yrs old, malabo na yan. If you're old naman, 50/50 mabigyan ka man ng visa 3mos lang. Bad thing pa dun is, once you reach the US yun IMMIG officer will give you lesser mos to stay pa. Khit Pinoy yun immig officer la patawad.
Anyways, we did what i told you and my whole family was granted 5yrs VISA. I suggest the 1M anount on your acct. The sure question on this one will be how you earned it and where it is now... God Bless!!!
