January 6th, 2007 12:44 PM #11wag ka muna mag jump up sa conclussion, meron pa paraan para di ma overhaul ang trany mo,and besides palagay ko walang prob ang trany mo,ito muna ang gawin mo,ipaadjust mo muna ang transmission band, ang transmission band ang naghohold sa drum to stop from turning para makashift ng mabuti ang mechanism(gear),.kung masyado malaki ang clearance nya, ito ang dahilan kung bakit nagslip sya.ito muna ang unahin mo,then replace replace the fluid filter if there is one.i hope makatulong ito sa prob mo.

Thanks man, you're a genius. That's the same diagnosis from my friend who was a former mechanic from Mitsubishi. My car is now up and running smoothly after my friend fixed it in his shop last weekend.
Man, it should have cost me big time when I brought my car to the Service Center pati yung Servitek (no offense sa kanila pero my friend would agree the same because its business anyway).

Good call on replacing ATF. Did you drain the torque converter too? Usually pag nagpalit ng ATF hindi lahat lalabas, dahil nasa torque converter yung matitira.
Good chance na baka kailangan mo na nga maghanap ng surplus, pero check the easy solutions first baka may na-overlook ka lang.

August 19th, 2008 01:45 PM #15ok. check ko yung cable.
may paraan ba para ma-check at maayos yung "weak point" na 3rd gear? anu ibig sabhin ba pag weak point???
mukhang na-drain ko kahit yung sa torque converter. ginawa ko, disconnect ko yung isang hose then start engine for 5 sec para maalis yung atf th torque converter.

Wala bang drain plug yung torque converter niyo?
What I mean dun sa weak point is baka at that certain engine speed while in third gear (assuming you have a 4 speed auto?) baka dun yung weak spot niya. It's difficult to diagnose these things without seeing them. Highly suggest you just bring it to a reputable shop you trust.

August 19th, 2008 02:16 PM #17if you want a DIY, try removing first the oil pan of your transmission then check for the ATF filter inside.. possible its clogged with dirt causing your transmission to starve ATF during highspeed...
if you want to remove the transmission from the engine, make sure you also unbolt your torque converter from the flywheel... the torque converter should stay attached to the transmission when removing it otherwise you will damage the oil seal... (torque converters looks like a pressure plate but sealed)
