2nd owner of 08 idsi AT, first 2months, ok takbo nya, then na experience ko na yung jerking. Kala ko ang takbo ng AT eh parang sa GoCart lang na deretso na, walang sabit, smooth. Iba pala kapag nagjejerk, medyo nakakainis lalo na kapag galing ng stop light, then nag go, 2-3 seconds na trugg-trugg-truggg tapos diretso na once makagain na ng speed, parang may dry cough yung auto kapag laging ganun, nakaka awa.
So dinala namin sa CAsa ng Honda sa Dasma, Out of warranty, nagparun kami tests and pms narin, sabi ng SR Tech na nakausap ko, sir palit spark plugs and may ignition coil na may tama that needs replacement. So we did replace the Spark Plugs and the Ignition coil, Mahal sa Casa yung Ignition coil so we decided to get it outside, 3rd party brand, 1.5k. BNew. So after replacement ng parts, nag ok, nawala si Jerk, after almost 2weeks, ayan na naman po kami, nag jejerk na naman. Tolerable yung jerking kasi it will only start once mag init na yung makina maybe after 5-8kms na drive, depende sa flow ng traffic, pero kapag yung traffic eh mahabahaba, mapapadali yung pag jerk.

Recently, habang binabaybay namin ang Aguinaldo papuntang dasma from bacoor, kainitan ng araw, slow moving yung traffic, namatay yung lamig ng AC, ok yung fan nag bloblow parin ng air, pero wala ng lamig. So pinatay namin, baka nainitan lang ng sobra, then after around 10 min, binuksan ulit namin yung AC, ok na ulit pero nung nag slow moving ulit yung flow ng traffic at nag jerk, namatay ulit yung AC. I'm thinking related sya sa jerk issue. So we booked for an appointment ulit sa Casa ng Honda Dasma.
Indepth diagnosis sa Casa is around 1.2k, dahil ichecheck daw yung status ng transmission and other parts. So nag ok kami, then after ng check up sabi the Transmission is the culprit. Related nga yung pagkamatay ng aircon kasi nagshoshort daw production ng power sa AC dahil sa Jerk and other components are affected because of the issue with the transmission. Advise samin ni Tech eh get a surplus CVT Trans sa Banaue, looked up OLX and found Fresh Japan surplus ranging from 14k and up for Honda idsi.
Right now I don't know if should we sell it or go for the repair. Medyo mahal narin ginastos namin for repairs. Tama nga sabi nung nag advise samin, kapag bibili ka ng 2nd hand, prepare a budget for parts replacement. Pero iba pala kapag Honda na CVT, mapapanganga ka sa gastusin.
Kung ganito kotse mo, benta or paayos? Hoping to get feedback from thread starters and owners of idsi out there, any inputs is highly appreciated.

Parang ang layo ng problem sa xmission sa aircon, masrelated pa emission sys at ignition sys para magloko ang aircon. Ang intindi ko pagnasa operating temperature na engine niyo sir nawawala ung jerk nya? Tama ba?
If ever na ganun nga eh total nakaready ka na magpalit ng cvt or sell the car pwede mo try dagdagan ng ng cvt fluid above the max level konti, around half liter lang saka mo itakbo ang auto. Check kung maypagbabago sa takbo.

Yung Jerk nawawala kapag pumalo na around 30km/hr na takbo nya, yung naka bwelo na ba, kapag diniinan ko na yung Gas, wala ng jerk. Pero lets say approach ka ng toll gate, slow moving once ma clear na ng rfid and go na, kapag inapakan yung gas na mag tritrigger ng rev ng rpm, mag jejerk sya, pero kapag slowly lang tipong titimplahin dahan dahan yung gas, yung jerk nya parang supot na, basta ganun. Yung sa aircon issue naman, once mag slow moving sa traffic na stop and go, more likely after 10-20min na ganun, mag start na sya mag jerk, at kapag natrigger na yung jerk, after 3-5sets ng stop and go sa traffic mamamatay na aircon. Sabi sa Casa, may relationship yung jerking sa transmission. Kung may makita lang ako service manual pag aralan ko. Kaso kahit manual wala eh :D. Thanks po sa mga inputs. Bukas scheduled na kami for AT replacement, feedback ako ng updates.
Kapapalit lang din po namin ng ATF. Spark plugs din kapapalit lang, yung issue ng jerking bumabalik after 2-3days. Kaya po dinala namin sa Casa and yung feedback nila after idiagnose yung Tig 1.2k na diagnosis nila, Yun nga daw po, lapit ng bumigay yung CVT. sa kanila daw 200k pero wala ng stocks kaya ang banat ng technician eh banaue po maghanap, yung fresh from japan. Tignan ko po results after ng replacement ng Transmission bukas. Sana maging maayos.![]()
Common sa automatic transmission pagkulang atf may slide konti o kaya may delay ang respose nya ang isa pa masmalakas kick down ng shift ng gears. Before ang problem ng cvt ko nagrrattle, delayed ang shift nya kaya na pa rev kana ng mataas saka nagshift kaya ang lakas ng jerk tuloy, from neutral or drive mode to reverse maymalakas na kalampag sa ilalim pagshift ko. Nawala lahat yan nung palit ako ng vaccume hose maslalo na ung malaki papunta sa egr( if right), clean tps, at ung sinobrahan ko konti ung cvt fluid. Nakaready na ko magpalit ng tranny but gumanda ang takbo mula ng ginawa ko lahat yan. My ride gen 1 jazz, 99k kms odo, 1.3 at.
Kung ang problem mo eh gaya ng sa akin try mo lang add cvt fluid. Engine temp at normal operating temperature ang running. Handbrake engage shift sa drive or reverse then check cvt dipstick dapat nasa hot level sakto ang fluid (i normally do it sa reverse masmalakas kasi ang ikot ng fluid). Ngayon at normal fluid level add ka 1/4 liter To half liter pagnagimprove takbo, ayos!! Nothing to lose ka naman dahil papalitan mo cvt fluid na rin kaya ung dinagdag mo matatapon lang din. After ng service sa casa add kana lang uli dahil kahit sabihin mo hindi nila gagawin sobrahan ng fluid. Ang malakas manira ng cvt tranny maslalo na pag1.3 engine na auto pagnakalso ang gulong at pilit mo sumampa gaya sa bangketa. Rerev mo ngmalakas para pilit umakyat eh masusunog ang fluid mo na aabuso ang tranny dapat atras ka konti para maybwelo at hindi hirap ang tranny.

Nacheck mo na ba sir dipstick ng tranny? Baka kulang lang fluid hehe pagmekaniko kasi nagcheck they normally do sa park or neutral gears lang but once na nilagay mo sa drive or reverse kaw mismo makikita mo ang laki ng ibaba ng fluid level kaya kulang siya. Engine running ang pagcheck lang hindi engine off. Have someone nkaupo sa driver side para nkapress ang brake pedal and handbrake engage for safety po.

Dapat nga ma DTI din sila. Kaso dapat may namamatay muna kagaya sa SUA bago pansinin.
Yung 2006 City idsi cvt namin laging pong nagshishift lock. Kada lagay mo sa "P" kailangan mo sundutin ulit ung shift lock para makambyo mo. Ano po kaya problema noon? Tapos ung gear indicator nya po sa dashboard umiilaw lang pagkinambyo mo tapos mamatay. Sensor kaya problema?
Hello medjo may problem din po ako, kasi pag nag rereverse ko lang naririnig yung jidder noise, pero di palagi mostly pag idle lang ako or nag brake habang nag rereverse. Minsan parang nabitaw din, anu po bang maayos na solution? Kakaplit ko nga lang din po pala ng CVTF.

Nag backread ako as in back read regarding sa issues ng City/Jazz na iDsi.
Anyway share ko lang po problema ko sa City ko. Sa idle in "p" mode ok, Idling in "N" mode minsan mataas minsan normal.
Then when Shifting to "D" mode baba yung rpm then may maririning ako kalansing ng sound coming from the tranny, although at first i thought sa pipings or "pangilalim" lang ang cause nun, pero sa tranny talaga. Ok na ang engine supports. naging minimal yung vibration ng buong kotse/engine bay pero may kalansing sound pa din cya.
What could be the problem? palitan ko napo ba ng ng surplus "excellent" condition na tranny?

After almost 2 months of owning/driving my 2006 GD everyday, i never had any issues with it except for one CVT problem no mechanic seem to have any idea what the problem is. Whenever im driving, lets say around 40km/h in a semi highway, and then you approach a near traffic so tendency you release the gas pedal to decelerate, a "hoooooooooooooooong" sound can be heard until the car reaches 10km/h then gone (brakes are not applied). Together with the hooooong sound, i can feel a little drag, that seems like the engine is engine braking, but it is very minimal and the RPM is not increasing. I have tried to shift to neutral while decelarating, and the noise disappears, hence i kinda concluded it was comming from my transmission. CVT levels is okay and already had it topped up in a honda dealership around 500mL since it was below normal when i got the car and thought that it was the reason why i hear the sound, but the problem still persists. I asked the previous owner about the cvtf and assured me it was an original honda CVTF that was in my CVT. Now contemplating about spending another 3,000php just to have the CVT fluid drained and replaced with a new CVTF in honda cars angeles. What are your inputs about this? Should i push the CVTF replacement? Do you think this will resolve my issue?
*update: went to honda cars angeles pampanga to have cvtf replaced already but was able to talk to a mechanic first, he said the he thinks changing the cvtf wont reolve the issue and think that cvt replacement will just be the only solution for it. Any inputs and ideas? What do you think? Didnt push through the cvtf replacement
I have a 2nd hand Honda city idsi '06, as a first time car owner wala akong idea masyado sa maintenance ng sasakyan kaya kalimitan dinadala ko lang sya sa talyer tapos tinatanong ko kung may problem ba or may kailangan palitan. Lampas one year na nasa akin ung sasakyan bago ko naisipan na papalitan ng transmission fluid, so dinala ko saya sa isang gasoline station at tinanong ko ung mechanic nila kung ok pa ba ung transmission fluid ang sabi nya kulang na kaya dadagdagan nalang, since 2nd hand ko sya nabili at hindi ko alam kung kelan huling pinalitan ung fluid ang sabi ko sa kanya palitan nalang lahat ng bago ung fluid. Long story short, dumaan ang ilang months at nagkaproblema ako ng jerking sa sasakyan at vibration sa low speed. Kahit pinalitan na ng spark plugs and ignition coil hindi ma resolve ang problema. Hanggang sa may nabasa ako about transmission fluids, iba ang ATF sa CVT, kaya chineck ko ung receipt then huala! ATF fluid ang inilagay. Kinailangan kong palitan na ang transmission ko dahil irreparable na daw, dinala ko sya sa honda pero sa surplus nalang daw ako makakakuha ng transmission ng sasakyan ko dahil lumang model na. Ang question ko lang after kong magpalit ng (surplus) na transmission, ang ipinalit nilang fluid ay hindi original Honda CVTF kung hindi Syngard CVT fluid. Ok lang po ba na yung ang cvt fluid na ilagay or papalitan ko ulit ng Honda CVT fluid talaga?

1. Yung jerking issue po ba sa automatic/cvt models lng nangyayari? Pag manual transmission ba walang ganito?
2. How about sa Vtec model?

while some folks call this the cockroach (ipis) model, i actually find it cute. it reminds me of the jetsons.
until today, i am still confused at why the AT (actually, CVT) issue occured. manufacturer says it was because owner used the wrong fluid and/or the wrong pms intervals, while owner says the thing's design was flawed...
MT models are ok. they have no transmission issues.
i do not know if these models have vtec. but for ordinary daily use, i do not feel non-vtec-ness is an issue.
