Slipping into neutral might be a symptom of low ATF levels or a clogged filter. That used to happen to me often because of a leaking gasket. High speed turns or sudden acceleration will cause the tranny to go neutral. My tranny eventually died after a few years of that

Burnt ATF smell is a good indication to renew clutch kit. Don't know auto tranny specialist in that area though.

is there a way to renew the clutch kit? where and how much? -just to ask for future reference.
in case.. is it cheaper to renew the clutch kit than to buy a surplus one?

guys, after reading this thread.. i to decided to contact Alex Bulaong.. to have them take a look at our big horn.. the problem being that it wasnt shifting gears.. well after talking to him he said that its transmission problem.. so they said that they will do home service.. they also said that they will pull apart the transmission at our motorpol. but when they came,, they removed the transmission, they just showed us the part where the torque converter is.. then they said that they will take the whole transmission back to their shop.. this is not what we talked about.. they said they will come back in the afternoon.. but they came back the next afternoon..

this would have been ok. but they asked for full payment.. which was 25k.. they wouldnt consider us paying half muna then the rest when they got the transmission back to working properly.. so they left with our transmission.. after lunch daw sila balik.. after lunch nga.. pero the next day pa..

when they did come back.. they installed the transmission.. unfortunately same problem.. wouldnt shift gears.. so this is when they start trouble shooting.. hmmm. parang baliktad ah.. di ba trouble shoot muna before anything else?

so now they say the A/T ECU is the problem.. they said they have one available in their shop for 9k. so we told them kami mag hanap.. kasi i thought ang mahal naman. so to make a long story short.. we found one in Evangelista, for half the price that ALEX BULAONG was selling to us..

fortunately for us the person selling the ECU wanted to open the ECU that we brought along to compare if they infact they are the same.. when the guy saw our ECU.. sabi nya.. mas maganda pa daw ang sa amin, and mukang wala naman sira.. so he told us to get it checked muna sa RAM electronics.. they too said there was nothing wrong with it..

now doubts start entering my head.. we called up Bulaong again.. and told him that there was nothing wrong with our ECU,, so we told him to bring his ECU and conect it to our big horn transmission. that was last tuesday that we talked.. now sabado na.. still didnt come. i guess bayad na kami eh.. im so disappointed.. recommended pa naman cya dito sa forum.. now im regretting contacting him.. maybe my belief in him can still change.. but i have my doubts na..

i dont know when he will eventually come.

what i dont really like is.. they took the transmission with them.. who knows what they did with it.. we were not there to see what was replaced or what ever was done to it.. baka naman inuwi lang nila.. sempre.. easy 25k.

all day yesterday.. we kept calling his fone. hindi cnagot.. this morning we called again. ang driver lang sumagot. iniwan lang daw sa kanya ang fone. what am i suppose to think? what would you guys think if this happend to you..

for those of you who know him in a personal basis.. let him know how i feel.. does anyone else have a different number apart from his Sun cell number?

i guess if nothing happens, then what can i do.. charge to experience nalang.. sana din mabasa to ni Alex bulaong.. diba member ka din dito? i guess its in Gods hands now.

update lang guys on our case.. the people of Alex Bulaong came to work on our big horn today.. they brought their own ECU,, same results.. the transmission still wouldnt shift gears.. and they had the guts to tell us to call the electrician to take a look at the wiring system daw..

for me that is totally out of the question.. first of all as i have said.. they said they will fix the transmission. with out even doin any trouble shooting, they pulled down the transmission agad.. and now that it still wont change gears. they said our ECU is not working.. when they brought their own ECU, it also wont work.. so paano yun? based on that analysis baka naman wala pala cra ang transmission.. pero huli na.. naka bayad na kami.. im goin to demand a refund. i think as a customer they didnt acomplish what i paid for.. palpak pala systema nila.. so to others out there beware of ALEX BULAONG..

as i have stated before.. there are still things they can do that can change my opinion of ALEX BULAONG and his business.. but from what i have seen parang ma hirap na..

mga mods should i post this sa goon squad?

mukhang medyo na agrabyado yata d2 sa post na to si sir bong ha.....ngayon ko lang nabasa to eh... anyway ...first of all i am not the bong that you had your transmission serviced with!!!! i know the guy and he does good, work thats based on experience, thats the reason why i recommend him, 3rd i already told sir bong the problem and i found out that he did the repair in house in Las pinas which is very near your home ... cant reach him?? he told me to ask you....then why dont you bring it back there to have it fixed??? instead of whining hear ... dinadamay mo pa ako....lastly e2 ang number nya 09167314336 ...thats his old number , dont know you cant contact him.... yun lang at sana huwag mag post ng bagay na hindi naman totoo, idinadamay mo pa ako.. k!!

well where still waiting if they will ever come back to work on it. palagi kasi cnasabi nila nga daw ang electrician that can take a look at the wiring and ECU.. tanong ko lang kasi. bakit binaba agad nila ang transmission? paano kaya if wala naman pala sira ang transmission.. sa wiring lang pala.. yung ang ayaw ko dun.. if you read my post.. i think you will understand why i feel the way i do..

just to update on our big horn transmission problem.. we eventually went to Alex Bulaong shop.. and talked to him. to asked if they are done with what they did with the bighorn transmission.. they told us to bring the car to the shop.. so they came to get the bighorn.. and just manually shifted gears to make it to their shop.. at the shop the electrician took a look at it and said there was a wiring problem..

the only problem then, it would cost us another 12k.. on top of the 25k that we had fully paid already.. so we decided to just pull out the unit.. but before we could get to the shop. they called and said that the big horn was working already. ok na daw ang pag change gear.. we called them again and said we didnt say that they should work on it..

when we got there we talked to alex and his son.. we told them the deal was they fix the transmission to working order. they failed to do that in the first place. then now they wanted us to pay 12k for the electrician. i really gave them a piece of my mind. eventually they said kami nalang daw bahala how much we will pay.

in the end i gave them P1500 para matapos na.. in my mind kasi i dont think 12k is right to pay just for soldiering a broken wire.. i say that it was only a broken wire somewhere. because they didnt argue with that. if they changed the ECU i dont think they would just say "cge kayo na bahala kung anu bigay nyo.".

this got me thinking.i think they just really tried to make a fool out of me. they should have really trouble shoot first before taking the transmission apart.. i think there was nothing wrong with the transmission in the first place.. shifting gears was the only problem. which was probably because of a broken wire, leading to the speed sensor. kasi ang lakas pa naman mag arangkada ang sakyan.. you could still make it wheel spin on gravel.. based on that i dont think the clutch was sliding.

im not an expert on A/T but i think i would know if the clutch was sliding.. and based on their non reaction when i told Alex that, it confirmed what i had thought.. so yun we paid P1500.. and drove the big horn back. never ever to take it back to bulaong...

this is my experience with ALEX BUlAONG.. but naman they still manange to make our bighorn change gears.. if not ALEX BULAY-OG, would be his new name on my mind..

so just keep an open mind guys if you want to get your transmsssion looked at by alex or any other AT specialist. canvas ka muna sa iba until you find someone worth trusting..

through out this ordeal, of having to wait and calling bulaong.. i talked to other AT specialist.. and most of them said mali daw talalga ang ginawa nila bulaong. they said removing the transmission should have been the last thing done in that kind of problem.
    well im more informed now..
